Pioneer SD-582HD5 - screen went black, no sound, Poor remote feed

The blue tube might be leaking coolant in the high voltage area, that is the cause of the POP. This repair might not be a DIY because of the lethal high voltage surrounding the CRTs tubes.
The slow response from the remote could be because the coolant has affected the main board where the IR signal are going to the remote sensor.
Let me know if you require further assistance.

Pioneer 58" SD-582HD5 1080i -Rear Proj TV

Like most problems with this model, check and re-solder the connections on the power supply board on the right rear of the tv, just behind where the main power cord goes in. Most problems are around the upper left corner where the white connectors E-12 and others. Check all of them from loose and cold solder solder connections on the board. Hope this helps.

Picture mode changes to zoom by itself

It sounds like an eeprom issue. But you can try to reset the set. Turn the set off by the main power on the set. wait a minute or two then together push both the main power button and the standby power button. This should resett the tv. If that doesnt work you will need service as the zoom and the various modes are all controled by the eeprom. Only hold the two buttons for a second. sometimes you will hear the crts discharge while resetting.Hope this helps

Pioneer SD-532HD5

This fault happens with just about any tube type projection set. The convergence IC's simply need to be replaced. They are two black, 2"X3", stand up ICs that will start with the letters STK on the surface of them and are mounted up against a large metal heatsink. If you have the soldering skills this should not be so hard for you to do, but please if you do not have the skills or experience to replace these IC's call in a pro to assist you with this repair. Good Luck
