The "1E" code is an error code that may be displayed on some Samsung refrigerator models. This code indicates that there is a problem with the freezer fan or the freezer fan control board.
If you are getting the 1E code on your refrigerator and the freezer is not freezing properly, there are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
Check the freezer temperature. Make sure that the temperature is set correctly and that the freezer is getting cold enough.
Check the freezer fan. Make sure that the freezer fan is running properly and is not obstructed.
Check the freezer fan control board. The freezer fan control board may be faulty and need to be replaced.
Check the wiring. Make sure that all of the wiring is properly connected and secure.
If you are unable to troubleshoot and resolve the issue on your own, you may need to call a technician for professional assistance. It is recommended to unplug the refrigerator before attempting any repairs to avoid the risk of electric shock.
FREEZER /FRIDGE NOT COOLING: Optimum refrigerator temperature at or below40° F(4° C). The freezer temperature should be0° F(-18° C). Check temperatures periodically. Appliance thermometers are the best way of knowing these
Based off the information you have provided your Frigidaire refrigerator is displaying an error code of "SY CE" and the lights are not working. A "SY CE" error code stands for a communication error at start up. This might be a miscommunication within your refrigerator and I would recommend performing a reset in order to correct the issue. To reset your refrigerator you need to disconnect power from it for roughly ten minutes. If this does not help correct your issue you may need to change your control panel or a wiring harness. In order to properly diagnosis your refrigerator you may need to disassemble it and I would suggest having a professional technician out to do so. This will help you avoid any unnecessary part purchases or personal injury. -Matt

Afternoon Cheryl, I am happy to assist you. Could the error code possibly be SY
CE? If so, error code SY CE, commonly refers to a communication error at
power up. Let's try resetting the refrigerator by either unplugging it or
flipping the household circuit breaker off. It is important to wait roughly ten
minutes and then turn on the refrigerator. If resetting the power does not
correct the issue, than the unit could possibly be experiencing a communication
problem with the control board or a faulty user interface board. In this regard,
I would recommend reaching out to an expert technician to ensure the
appropriate replacement part is ordered.
From what I remember a flashing 4 means "damper error". Send your model number found inside or on the outside of the fresh food section, The air damper is found between the freezer and fresh food section and regulates temperature in the fresh food section by opening wide for things that warm up your fresh food section example would be opening the door and letting warm air inside . The damper then closes to keep the right temperature. If you have questions please ask, Thanks Sea Breeze
Many times a freezer and/or refrigeratordo not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many otherthings that can go wrong.
If you are hearing a clicking or buzzing thencheck out the last two tips.
If your refrigerator is running but warm, then...
Check out these tips that I wrote about that... it is a great place to starttrouble shooting your unit...and something that you can do rather then callinga repair person to do a simple thing for you...
The temperature controls are located at the top front of the refrigerator or freezer compartments. The recommended setting should be correct for normal household refrigerator use. The controls are correctly set when milk or juice is as cold as you like and when ice cream is firm. Wait 24 hours for your refrigerator to completely cool before adding food. If you add food before the refrigerator has completely cooled, your food may spoil. NOTE: Adjusting the refrigerator and freezer temperature controls to a colder-than-recommended setting will not cool the compartments any faster. If the temperature is too warm or too cold in the refrigerator or freezer, first check the air vents to be sure they are not blocked before adjusting the controls. To turn Off/On: Style 1 Press the freezer down arrow touch pad until a dash (-) appears in both the refrigerator and freezer displays. Neither compartment will cool. Style 2 Turn the freezer control to the word Off. Neither compartment will cool when the freezer is set to Off.
Energy Saver option (on some models) The Energy Saver option turns off the heater which helps to reduce moisture on the door hinge seal. The refrigerator uses more energy when Energy Saver is off. Press the control to On to save energy when the environment is less humid. Press the control to Off when the environment is warm and more humid, or if you notice moisture on the door hinge seal.
Adjusting controls If you need to adjust the temperature in either the refrigerator or freezer compartment. NOTES: For Style 1 control, press the up and down arrow touch pads; for Style 2 controls, turn the dial to adjust the temperature. Except when starting the refrigerator, do not adjust either control more than one setting at a time. Wait 24 hours between adjustments for the temperature to stabilize.
Sears is technically correct. It wouldn't work with the old coolant either. The principle is simple. The refrigerator is the same temp as your garage - it is not running. It must be in a 60 degree room to work properly. The sensor to turn it on is in the fresh food compartment, and it never calls for cooling; therefore it appears you freezer only is out - but they both work together. Hope this helps!
