I just bought a GE profile side by side refrigerator model PSS23M SS with a water dispenser. About 1 day after we bought it, the freezer would make period whirring noises - so loud that we could hear them upstairs. It used to stop after a few minutes but now it goes on for hours. Someone is coming to look at it but what could be the problem. Its like a really loud fan whirring. If we turn the temperature up the noise stops or slows down but then restarts again after about 20 minutes. We are going nuts.

There is a plastic piece that is on the side of the actuator that comes in contact with a micro switch that fires the water valve. That switch is held by plastic clips. They break or get weak over time.
Forget the warranty - it is only for the compressor and that is usually five years. Did you check for freezer temp - wet cubes indicates too warm up there. Water dispenser lines may be clogged.
If low temps you may have low refrigerant or a defrost mechanism not working - if not working there should be ice buildup on line entering the evaporator in back of compartment.
easy , 1 you have to chek if the line of your water is broken , 2 you have to see if it not from your freezer ( the defrost ; it do that 3 time per day ) if it leak for the frezzer you have to low the temperature in the freezer
thats a water tank holding water dfor the dispensor, if everything in refrig is freezing quite possible that the water in tank froze as well, which would explain no water,
