My Roper heavy duty 8 cycle 2 speed combination washer does not fill up on rinse cycle

when in rinse washers use just cold water so clothes don't wrinkle, try this, set the washer to just cold, start it and see if it fills or fills slowly if so you have a bad water valve on washer or no cold water going to washer.

Everytime I start the washer it pauses halfway through the cycle why is that

If the washer stops mid cycle the lid switch assembly might be defective. This is a very common problem. The lid switch assembly can fail either mechanically or electrically. Test any electrical switches with an Ohm meter for continuity. The switches should have continuity according to their design. Door Lock Motor and Switch Assembly
If the washer stops mid cycle the door lock assembly should be checked. The door lock can fail either mechanically or electrically. Test any switches on the door lock with an Ohm meter. The switches should have continuity according to their design. Water Inlet Valve
If the washer stops mid cycle the water inlet valve cold water side may have failed. Most washers have a cold water rinse and so if they can't fill with cold water they just sit indefinitely waiting for the cold water to enter. If there is cold water to the water inlet valve and the cold water works in other parts of the cycle - or to make warm water - the valve is not the problem.
Main Control Board
If the washer stops mid-cycle the main control board might be defective. This is not common. Check other causes first such as the lid or door switch and other components.
Timer
If the washer stops mid cycle the timer might be defective. This part is often misdiagnosed, check other components before replacing this timer

My washing machine stopped working in mid-cycle. No agitation is going on and I could not drain it but putting to spin.

Make sure the washer fills with cold water from the beginning of the cycle because most washers have a cold only rinse cycle and if your cold water valve is bad then the machine will stop mid cycle because it cannot fill the washer for the rinse cycle. Secondly, it helps to know which washer you have so please enter more info next time you ask a question. Good luck.

Star washing went get to rinse circle stop, press stop bottom and start bottom tries to start but not work

if you're saying it dies in the rinse cycle you could have a problem with your cold water not coming into the washer, the washer only uses cold water in rinse cycle,no cold water the washer won't run,try starting it just with cold water and see if it fills,if not bad water valve or problem with water in house valve or bad hose.

Washer wont fill up during rinse cycle

all rinse cycles are filled with cold water to keep the clothes from wrinkling.set up the washer to run with just cold water.start it,if no water comes into washer, shut down your house water valve that fills the washer, take off the cold water hose, stick it in the washer or if there's a sink or where ever and turn on the water,if water comes out of the hose then you need a new water valve on the washer

Cold cycle does not work

hey thats crazy.anyway first things first.water passes through the fill valve.in the valve[ where the black fill hoses attach to your washer] are screens that stop minerals from going into the valve itsself and blocking up the valve internaly.i know its going tobe tough[trust me i've done 100s]but its how your complaint is solved 99 out of 100 times.you turn off the water remove the cold hose and clean the cold fill screen.also while the hose is off flush it into a bucket or the washer tub[wont hurt a thing]make sure you put the screen back into the valve.so next time valve wont get harmed.if the screen is clean and you have water at the cold facuet at the washer.you could have a bad valve.that would be a voltage check.we wont go there now.if you still need help you can email me thru fixya.hope this helps. God bless ,tom

GE Washer wbsr3140d5ww water problem

Hello Chad
Welcome

Sounds like the cold water knob or switch is not switching and may be faulty.

I have a problem with my washer
For some reason when I try to start the washer and I have it set to cold it does not work if I put it to hot then its fine
The cold water does work though because if I change the washer to a later cycle cold water comes out just fine.
So it almost seems like its the timer knob
any ideas?
Thanks
