Why would my TV quit scanning HD channels into memory. It works fine with other sources for signal, any ideas?

If you are only having a "no signal" issue on your Blaupunkt TV, it could be due to several reasons. Here are some possible solutions:

1. Check cables: Ensure the cables between the TV and the device (e.g., cable box, DVD player, etc.) are properly connected.
2. Change Input: Make sure the TV is set to the correct input for the device you are trying to use.

Do you have the antenna aimed correctly and the correct antenna for the distance between your location and the stations? Check antennaweb.org and tvfool.com for the directions to the stations you should be able to receive. Antennaweb assumes an external antenna and is very conservative in the station list. TVfool gives the stations you should get with various different types of antennas. Tall trees and buildings will block signal strength so consider the environment around you.

With digital signals, if you do not have enough signal strength for a given tuner, the channel will not come in. An amplifier may help you get the signal, particularly if the signal is shared to several devices. Failure of an amplifier or lightning surge protection can stop the signal from reaching the TV. A surge through the antenna can damage the tuner.

A damaged cable can also be a source of a problem. Check the outside portion of the wire as well as the interior wires. Replace any that have damaged insulation or ends.

For this TV, if you have done a channel scan with the TV set to the Input TV/DTV, and the Signal Source set to Antenna. Turn the antenna and then set the Additional Scan to On. (Menu > TV > Channels > Additional Scan.) Then do another channel scan.

I solved this problem by purchasing an external indoor HD TV antenna. Once I plugged it into the TV, I received approx 20 channels, picture and sound are fine. The antenna that comes with the TV appears to work only when you are located quite close to the source of the TV signals.

The cable box needs to be set to send different signals when using hd tv and standard tv. Usually a good setting would be 720p in hd and 480p in standard. The tv is working fine it is the cable box sending the signal. If you have another hdmi source such as a dvd player you may hook that up to show the tv is working just fine.

I assume that you are dissatisfied with the quality of the picture on the HDTV. Are you feeding it with an HD signal. First, it must be an HD source, either over the air HD or a cable channel in HD (not all "digital" signals are HD signals). Second, you must be sending it with the proper cable, either HDMI or at the very least RGB Component Cables (not composit video).

It is quite common to see standard definition on HDTV's actually look worse than on standard def sets. The reason is the extra pixles availble on the HDTV make you realize how low of resolution the standard def signal is. Instead of it just being fuzzy or unclear, it will actually look bad.

HDLCD2600 come set for cable. Make sure the tv is set for "tv" or "air" then run the auto channel memory or search feature of the set. If you have the manual it's under "memorizing channels". If your still have problems, call Sansui TV's customer service number 800 289 0980.

Just to make sure, you do have analog tuners setup right?  Media Center 2005 requires analog tuners be working before digital tuners are allowed.

I was having same problem, and think I got lucky and found fix.

Try unplugging the TV and waiting 30 seconds, then plug back in.

You will likely get blue screen with "No Signal".

Go to Menu, then scroll down to "Setup". Select "Factory Reset" then hit "Yes."
