Try ticking with a long screw driver. Metal tends to stuck but when knocked easily with another piece of metal it tend to loose.

When you open it, there is are contact points and a piece that has to touch to change the speed. It may just be slightly bent or out of place. Some food may have gotten in there.

SOURCE: have a sunbeam heritage stand mixer model 2346-000.

Make sure the bowl is off to the side. I wouldn't get rid of a mixer just because the bowl doest't, if it's a good powerful mixer. There aren't many replacement parts available except directly from sunbeam. You need to get a replacement motor for the bowl turntable.

SOURCE: My Sunbeam Heritage MixMaster mixer just stopped

If it is plugged into a circuit protected by a GFCI breaker, which it should be if it is a kitchen circuit, reset the breaker. If you know for sure there is power at the receptacle you have it plugged into, then the power cord is bad or you have an internal mixer problem. You will have to pay someone to repair it or take the mixer apart yourself and find out what is wrong. Before paying someone be sure and get an estimate as to the cost of the repair. In some cases you are better off buying an new mixer as the repair costs will exceed to price of a new one.

How to remove the front of a sunbeam mixer

Thanks Anonymous for your answer back in 2008 regarding how to remove the front fascia by removing the beater eject button. I'm quite handy but spent over an hour trying to find how to remove the chrome front fascia. Even the service manual is just an exploded diagram with no obvious explanation of how to remove it. Many thanks, 13 years later!

Need beaters for a black and decker SM100 mixer

I searched for replacement beaters for Blacker & Decker SM-100 type 1 (SM100) electric stand mixer for years. I found the Sunbeam Mixmaster Mixer Replacement Beaters for stand mixers, item 4955, at a large Ace hardware store. They were priced over $16.00, so you may consider buying a new stand mixer. The beaters are the correct length, snap in and grip correctly even though the ends are curved like a half ball rather than flat as the originals. The beaters turns well but I haven't tested them with the bowl because I need to find the turn table that I have in storage. The beater set was design ed to replace parts for Sunbeam stand models 2355-1, 2356-1 and 2360-2.

Need interior diagram of Sunbeam MixMaster Model 2486

Here's the solution. The spring controls the beater eject button. The spring is mounted on the metal shaft and is oriented so that the straight side of the spring rests along the white plastic part adjacent to the shaft, and the curved side of the spring points outward and downward so that it will rest against the case when the unit is reassembled. See photo.

I can't get the tilt release to release to raise the mixer . I have a batch of cookie dough in the bowl and I am unable to raise the mixer

Try running the mixer for a few seconds to clear anything out from under the beaters, like a chocolate chip. You can also try pushing down on the beater end of the mixer, press the button and lift.
