How can I disable the factory alarm?

My car alarm goes off whenever I open the door unless I start the car. Is there anyway to disable this so that I can get into my car without the alarm going off every time. This is a factory alarm

When my alarm goes off, it usually happens when someone sticks their hand in the window to unlock the door. In order to turn off the alarm I close whichever door the person opened back, and unlock the door from the driver's side door. This usually turns the alarm off.

SOURCE: Key Fob does not work and alarm goes off when raining

the central locking control unit is in the drivers door. there's a polythene sheet in the door panel. If that's ripped or petrified then rain may be screwing with the electrics. it may be worth taking off the door panel and wrapping it the controll unit in a shopping bag or summat.....

This may sound really dumb but have you tried shutting the alarm off with the remote before turning the key? I am sorta wondering if your key is worn out and the alarm system reads it like someone putting a screw driver in there to unlock it. Just a thought. I am guessing here so please be gentle on me. Ok, try this.
Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward
all the way just before cranking. Then within
5 seconds, locate, press and hold in the
valet/overide button, found under the
dash area, (push button, spring loaded)
until the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area goes on solid,
and the siren chirps once.

(Your valet switch might be the toggle
(on/off) type. in this case, key on,
flip switch in opposite direction,
then turn the key off.)

This should reset the alarm, and reset
the grounded relay on the starter wire,
allowing you to start the engine.

At this point, the only thing working would
be the keyless entry from the alarm,
if it came equipped that way.

Just Repeat these steps to place it
back to usable armed mode.
You may get 2 chirps, confirming it,
and the lights may flash twice as well.

2010 dodge caliber sxt how to disable the factory alarm

try unlocking the drivers door from the outside with the key.
this triggers a switch to turn off the factory alarm for the moment.this method is a backup for when your remote quits.
permanent disable of alarm has to be programmed at dealer or ground the wire inside the drivers door that goes to the exterior key lock cylinder.

Disable factory alarm

will the alarm stop by itself after a period of time?

I had a car once that sometimes the alarm would go off while I was driving and id have to get out, shut door, put key in door and lock and unlock the car and it would turn the alarm off, and sometimes by just starting the car will turn them off... If you cant even start the car, or anything, you will probably have to call someone....... But first I would pop the hood and disconnect the battery for.. idk 10 minutes?(certain systems in the car can actually store a temporary charge) then reconnect the battery cable and see if alarm goes off? Leave the door open and such and unlocked while doing this and possibly when you re connect the battery cable it wont be activated

The alarm system is integrated into the vehicle electronics, you can't completely bypass it. You don't need a remote to have it work right and not go off, you have a problem with the system like a door sensor.

Hey the factory alarm in my car starts automatically when i open the door of the car. i showed one of the mechanics, he even didn't helped me out. is there anyway i can disable or do something to stop it....

there is a switch located on the inside of the door on the back of the lock ctlinder. that switch is for alarm arming and dis-arming with key. that switch most like ly fell off the back of the lock. you will need to remove door panel and look at the back of the lock. good luck.

I can't turn off the factory installed alarm on my 2005 Rav 4.

yeah. disconnect the battery, put the key in the ignition and turn it to the ON position. leave the driver's side door open, and reconnect the battery. the alarm will chirp a few times while you're putting the battery back on, but this SHOULD work.

you might as well go ahead and take the battery out of the remote for the alarm as well, to make sure its not setting your alarm off as well. you can replace the battery in the remote once the battery is reconnected in the vehicle. the remote might need to be reprogrammed if the alarm goes off again, otherwise its time to go to the toyota dealership!

!!WARNING!! make sure the key isnt in the position to START the vehicle, you just want the key ON. make sure that nothing else in the vehicle is on, and also, be VERY careful when reconnection the battery, as it will spark when it makes its connection. if you have been charging the batter a lot, make sure to give the battery time to cool down, because when car batteries get hot, they emit hydrogen, which is explosive. this IS a risky move, but is the only thing you can do, unless you either install a kill-switch or charge the battery and drive to the dealership while the alarm is going off. sometimes, when you start the vehicle, the alarm will stop, but im assuming this isnt your case.
