Check out Espares video on how to repair and replace cable on the SEBO X1. It is the same machine as the X4, only difference is a different motor and cosmetic differences. I rely on this video and a few of the others that this company have done on You Tube for SEBO repairs.

Don't forget to rate, thanks.

I wouldn't recommend doing this yourself. You should take the machine to an authorized Sebo dealer for a new cord installation. If you try this repair yourself you will not only void the warranty, but you will likely not get the repair done properly. It won't cost much more than the price of the cord for the shop to do it.

How do I replace electric brushes in the motor

It will take far longer for me on how to do this, but I did it myself using this fantastic espares video on You Tube. Carbon brushes are really easy to remove as are other areas. X1A, X1.1, X4 and X5 Extra are all the same model, save from cosmetic differences, different motor outputs and bigger floor head and brush roller on the X5.

Sebo vac grinding noise and burnt smell

Take it to your local vac shop for assessment. Sounds like a bad motor. If they are not a Sebo dealer, make sure they know that a X1 motor is not the same as an X4 motor. It should cost around $200 for the total repair . A new X4 is $799 so the repair is usually a good idea.

Hi, I've just had my Sebo X4 back from being repaired (motor was growling so Sebo replaced it FOC under warranty) however, the replacement motor is 1000 watts. I queried this with Sebo, as they c

Watt= volts x amps So what are you losing? Not much really. Should they replace it with the same motor? Possibly, but you got a free motor out of them. To be honest I think you're splitting hairs on this one. The difference in how much cleaning that sebo will do with one motor vs the other is beyond minimal. The aggressive brushes on that vacuum do 95% of the carpet cleaning and both motors will have no problem turning it at sufficient speed. As far as suction goes I'd be amazed if it was even a noticeable difference. That's an amazing vacuum you bought, I wouldn't worry about it and go on with life.

My sebo x4 extra does not start. There is power but no warning lights are flashing. When I turn the vacuum on there is a continual clicking/buzzing sound.

Hi.

Eeither motor or servo motor with gear box is seized. Testing is done energizing the motor. Test and repair must be done by a technician. Call the number listed on the owners manual to contact a qualified repairer.

I want to release flex from sebo x4 vacuum cleaner to cut back...

On the underside of the handle, there's a small screw close to where the metal and plastic parts join. Undo this screw. This will allow you to pull the plastic part out of the metal part - not very far, but just far enough so that you can separate the plastic part into two halves lengthways. That gives you access to the switch, and you should find the rewiring job and reassembly straight forward from there on.
I hope this helps. If you need more, just post a reply and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. I do value feedback, so please remember to rate this answer.

Sebo X4 is squealing when pulled back. Takes a while after it's been running for this to happen. We changed the roller brush (needed it anyway) but didn't take care of the noise. Could the wheels be...

Yep - we think Sebos are pretty good too. I work at a Sebo sales and repair dealership! The wheels are a good bet - I can't think of anything else that might cause the noise. If in doubt, I suppose you could simply wheel one around for a while when switched off...

I have a worn clip - the open close clip to secure the adjustable handle in place. I have the new part but, not sure how to fit it. Can you help?

Yes. Remove the handle and cable, then remove the bag compartment cover. At the back of the bag compartment, towards the top, you will see four screws. Ignore the one furthest to the left, and unscrew the other three. That will release the cover at the rear, and expose the clip you want to get at. The clip is held in place by a metal C-clip, which can be levered off with a screwdriver, but be careful not to damage it because you will need it to secure your new clip. when you've got the new clip in place, re-position the cover (not that it clips in at the top first), replace the three screws and the job's done.
