We have hit the reset and it will stop for a moment, but then starts beeping again.
Hello Stephanie;
My name is Peter. I am a retired field service repair refrigeration technician.
The open door alarm is just not for the door being open. It is a cooling warning that the unit is not maintaining temperature.
You need to remove the lower bottom back cover on your freezer.
There are only a few screws that hold it on. You have molding strips on each side that just pull off.
Having removed the back cover are the cooling coils iced up?
If so you need to defrost them whit a hair dryer.
Is the drain plugged with ice. Then defrost with a hair dryer.
Is the cooling fan running. Then you need to replace this.
If the coils are frozen it may be your defrost timer. This is located in the left corner bottom back of your freezer. There is a metal plate with a through hole. With a large flat head screw driver turn the stem clockwise one click at a time to put you freezer into defrost. After 40 minutes repeat the process to turn it back on.
This part needs to be replaced.
Go into the following website pug in your model number. Fine your part number and search the internet for best price. http://www.searspartsdirect/
Try disconnecting the power at its source, then reconnecting it.
Hey friend, thank you for your post!
In order to stop the door ajar alarm from beeping when the door is closed you would need to reset the alarm. If you have done that and it continues to beep it could be an issue within the switch or panel of your Frigidaire freezer. I would recommend having a professional come out to properly diagnose your appliance. -Matt
