Question about Hotpoint Ultima WF860 Front Load Washer

Open Question

Hotpoint wf860. Why is it stuck in superwash mode?

The fast wash programmes either 60 or 30 mins has started showing the superwash (cloudlike) symbol for the 60 min wash or the acylics symbol when I select the 30 min fast wash. This means that the washer is taking 2 hours plus to do what is usually a 60 min wash. Any suggestions on how to reset this please? thanks

Suggestion: Plug off the wall first. Possible your outlet filter is blocked. This requires cleaning depending on your usage. Clean this out and refit. Check out user's manual. Good luck. Also check if your inlet into the machine is not clogged.

SOURCE: "Test" displays no washing done!

Your test mode is on, maybe accidently. Press "start", "cancel", "on" & "off" together for 10 secs, you will see d/off come on the display. Do the same & the test mode comes on again.

What mode are you starting this machine in ? I know this may sound silly and I'm trying to determe if this is a machine fault code or something else.

The access door will not open, it is showing the locked symbol in the window

Your problem is either one of the 2 cases below.

1. Door Locked Indicator...'Keyhole' symbol
The 'Keyhole' symbol will illuminate 2 seconds after you have
pressed the 'START/CANCEL' button and will remain lit
throughout the wash programme.
The 'Keyhole' symbol will be flashing at the end of the
programme to indicate that the door is still locked. When the
symbol goes off you will hear a bleep and the door can then
be opened.

2. If the machine has been child locked, deactivate this feature by pressing and holding in the 'child lock' button for 2 seconds. You will hear a beep and the child lock symbol will go out, allowing you to use the machine normally.

I have a hotpoint ultima wf860 washing machine when trying to do a wash it just keeps saying test what is wrong with it ?????

SomeHotpoint's are designed to go into test mode when the start button and the on/off button are pressed at the same time. If you are stuck in Test mode, simply hold the start button down until it comes out of test mode, then hold both the start buttons and the on/off button down until you see 'D:end' (or similar message). Now try a normal wash programme again and hopefully it should be fine. If it goes into test mode by itself, then it may be an indication that there is a real fault, or a faulty programmer board. hope this helps.
