Hi Hari Krishnan,
Recently I repaired a Videocon 32" LCD for "no signal" in AV mode. AV input in the service menu got off by itself. Corrected it and the problem was solved. There may be similar problem in your case too, if there is no component damage or failure in the main board. Unfortunately I do not have service code for your set. Good luck.

Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.

In some models of LCD TVS; the backlight inverter and its T'Con board will be a part of the panel itself, and will be a built-in type inside the LCD panel. If so, they can't be replaced. In this case; a panel replacement is the only repair. For some other models, the backlight inverter section circuit will be a part of the main power supply regulator [SMPS]. To such sets, the power supply section circuit too should trouble shoot. Contact any service technician. The circuit will differ with models and versions.

Dear Sir, When menu and other displays are there, how can we blame the back light. He further says that he can watch USB videos too.

Samsung Plasma TV has standby power but no video

Make sure your video and sound cable is working (rca, hdmi cable etc) and your source component like dvd player or settop box is working. If cable is plug into a socket AV 3 or HDMI 3 for e. g. make sure the tv is source or input is selected the same like AV 3 etc.

It is possible for the TV to switch on or off but no picture or sound. This means the input board or tv tuner is faulty in which case you need a good tv repair technician

I hooked hdmi to tv. i went thru ps3 settings for video n audio n swithch audio to the red n white output. now i have sound thru surround sound but my video is flickering n i cant c so i can undo it

Make sure the Component AV Cable is connected to the AV Multi Out port on the back of the PLAYSTATION 3 system. Connect the other end of the Component AV Cable into the video and audio RCA jacks of the TV or display monitor.

2. While the PLAYSTATION 3 system is in standby mode (red light on the front of the system), hold down the touch-sensitive On/Off button on the front of the system until the system goes into standby mode again . (So the light cycle would go from: red light to --> green light --> then back to red light) This will ensure that you have held down the ON/OFF button long enough to reset the Video Output Settings.

3. Turn on the PLAYSTATION 3 system and once the system finishes powering up, the Video Output Settings will automatically be reset to the standard resolution (or detect the current display output settings of your TV/monitor).

No picture with cable to denon AVR-589

Long and painful answer!!! However, in the end, you need to bypass HDMI thru your receiver and go direct to the TV. Connect Digital Coaxial or Optical for audio to your receiver. Your version of HDMI in your receiver is not compatable with today's HDMI version. Yours is 1.1a and the current version is 1.3b going to 1.4. If you want detailed info as to "why", just google "HDMI 1.1 problems" you can read for hours! Sorry for the bad news! However, it is what it is. Hope this helps. If you need further help with setup, post a comment and I can give you further help.

If you want picture to pass through the receiver to TV via HDMI then HDMI is the only cable that you can use for both connections. Video signals designed for an HDMI output will not pass through component video connections, they are not compatible. Your best result will be to either continue using your component video connection but connected directly to the television or use the HDMI connection on the TV if available.

Ps3 wont show up on tv

Hey i just posted i have the same problem as you do but then I checked the SONY PS3 website and it solved my problem. Try resetting your video output. I'll paste what it says on the PS3 website but if that doesn't solve your problem go to the website. They have a bunch of troubleshooting solutions for this problem...

If while manually changing the Video Output Settings, the screen remains blank for more than 30 seconds, you may need to perform the following steps to reset the Video Output Settings.

  1. Make sure the Component AV Cable is connected to the [AV MULTI-OUT] port on the back of the PLAYSTATION 3 system.
  2. Connect the other end of the Component AV Cable into the video and audio RCA jacks of the TV or display monitor.
  4. Turn ON the PLAYSTATION 3 and once the system finishes powering up, the Video Output Settings will automatically be reset to the standard resolution (or detect the current display output settings of your TV/monitor).
