The machine is stuck in zigzag cannon move control knobs

If the buttonhole dial has been rotated so that its indicator mark is not at zero (vertical aligned with the plate indicator mark), the stitch width dial will not function. Turn the buttonhole dial clockwise to the vertical mark.

How do you use the pattern stitching module in singer model 2732. I have the Manuel but still don't understand how it works. I have followed instructions and nothing happens. I must be doing something...

Have you installed the stitch selector pattern module for the patterns you want, seated it properly as outlined on page 52 of the instruction book following all 7 steps? (Page 54 identifies the knobs and lever's that need to be moved to successfully install the pattern module)

If that is done correctly, then selecting a stitch is done with the stitch selector lever being moved under the letter corresponding to the stitch you are trying to select. (Shown beginning page 55) You also need to move the stitch length knob as indicated.

You will need to be sure you are following the instructions very carefully as there are a number of settings that need to be made to ensure you get the stitch you are trying to achieve.

I hope this helps you.

Janome V 74088 627 will do embroidery stitches but not straight or zigzag

I bought a Janome 627 from a second hand shop in Melbourne, Australia. The pattern selector on that machine was stuck - you could select the right-most stitches but it would not move to the stitches to the left of the button holes. I opened the machine and lubricated the stitch selector plate, and other the nylon gears, with Triflow clear synthetic grease. These plates/gears are white. I also gently raised the metal arm connected to the selector plate to the left a little with my finger to help ease it across as I turned the selector button towards the stiches on the left. I could see how the arm needed to raise a little to click into each stitch so I gently helped it do the raise movement. It is clear which arm, as it was the one moving as I changed between the stitches that were able to be selected. After a few uses the stitch selector would move through all stitches on its own and weeks later it still does.

Onece the range selector is turned on the light comes on but soon goes out, if you move the selector a little the light comes back on, this stove was made around 1952. Thank You, Dave

Are you talking about the oven temperature control? When turned on to the selected temperature the oven indicator will light and the element will work. When the oven reaches the desired temperature the power will shut off to the element and the indicator light will go out. When the oven cools slightly the indicator light and the element will again turn on. When it does turn off and you turn the knob slightly to increase the temperature the indicator light and element will come on again as you are asking it to heat to a higher temperature. This is normal oven operation.

I have an old kenmore sewing machine Model # 385 -1695180. It repeatedly has the same problem: the stitch selector dial does not work and is always set on straight stitching no matter what stitch is...

It sounds like the mechanism and/or the knob are dirty.
Spray some degreaser on the cam stack and behind the knob, blow them out with canned air. IT may take a couple cleanings if old lubricants are sitting there.

How to remove the washer cycle selection/start-stop knob on a Whilpool Heavy Duty Thin Twin stacked washer dryer

I believe the selector knob on a Whirpool just has to be turned counter-clockwise with the selector pushed in. It will spin off the shaft and then the outer indicator dial will pull off. The shaft also has a keyed slot that will only allow the dial to be removed and installed one way, so there should be no question as to how it goes back on.

Was there a reason as to why you are removing the washer selector knob? If this is a simple matter of replacing a broken water temperature selector, you shouldn't have to remove any of the control knobs to gain access to the selector. The entire front panel comes off by removing the screws holding it in place. That way you can access the broken selector from behind the front panel much easier. Just remove the panel right above the washer top (under the dryer) and it should expose the front panel mounting screws. Remove these screws and the front panel comes off. Just make sure the unit is unplugged before you begin. I hope this helps you. Let me know if you need further assistance.

Error code DR

Pull the tech sheet out of the dryer ( behind the lower front access panal ). The lights flashing are trying to tell you a fault code.

A copy:

MODEL DIFFERENCES: • Better models have a digital readout display
• Good models do not have a digital readout display
READING ERROR CODES 1. Position cycle selector knob to the 3 O’clock position.
2. Press and hold the Select and Pause Cancel buttons simultaneously for six seconds.
3. Immediately after, press and hold the START and Pause Cancel buttons simultaneously for 4 seconds.
4. Rotate the cycle selector knob to the 2 O’clock position.
On better model dryers, the error code will appear in the digital display. On good models, the five indicator lights of
Drying, Cool Down, Wrinkle Rid, and Clean Lint Filter Spin will flash the number of times for the first digit of the code
and the START indicator light will flash the number of times for the second digit. Take separate counts of each indicator
light, then repeat to confirm in order to be accurate in identifying the proper error code. The code is obtained by counting
the number of times the lights flash. Example E24: The five indicator lights would flash twice indicating the 2 and the
START indicator light will flash four times indicating the 4. The five indicator lights and the START indicator light start
flashing at the same time. The control will pause for 2 seconds, then repeat the code.
Note: A letter appearing in the code stands for a number higher than nine.
A = 10 B = 11 C = 12 D = 13 E = 14 F = 15
Example Code E4A: the first digit would be 4 and the second digit would be 10. If this code would appear on a dryer in
the Good model line, the five indicator lights would blink four times and the START indicator light would blink ten times.
Troubleshoot problem by using chart below.
To move on to the next code, press the OPTIONS button. To clear code, press the Select button.
To exit this mode, simultaneously press and hold the Select and Pause Cancel buttons for six seconds.
