Re: Why are ends of some recordings now being cut off?
This has to do with the network & not your TV. For various reasons the networks may vary the overall time of programming, therefore you should schedule your recordings extending the record time.

Try setting the time of your DVR to be precise. If the recording starts 2 minutes before the show starts it will cut off 2 minutes before the show ends! My DVR has functions that allow me to add a minute or two before or after the times set to record, but that can cause other problems like if you are recording 2 shows and you try to record a new show after a show that was being recorded, it won't allow you to, because it can only record 2 shows at a time! Best bet is tro synchronize your watch to the Internet time and use that to sync your DVR time.
this to allow some extra timing on the end to account for as to do with the timing of the program itself & not your TV. when recording a particular program it is a good idea to allot some time on the end to account for some stations overlapping.
First of all is this a problem with a laptop? Probably not, which program are you using? Are you recording a show on TV? This is a very vague question, if you could call it a question.
The clock settings should be set to Auto so that the clock is set by the broadcasted signal; this will automatically update when the clocks change.
Note that Recording start and end times should be set to On Time to ensure that the broadcaster's start and end signals are used. If either of these are changed, the timing becomes manual, and functions such as Series Record are not available.
More is needed. What's IT that cuts off? Are you using the TT's Line Out or Phono Out (which is a 'faint whisper' by comparison. Many digital recording applications will assume extended perceived silence is the end of the program and just stop.
If programs run over when you are recording from your DVR, you have the option of having the recording last longer. We do this with ours, especially on live broadcast. You can find in the options for recording to extend the time. We always go over by five minutes so as not to miss the end of the show.
One of the options for the DVR recordings is starting and ending before the program starts and ends. You can change this setting to your preference. To change , press the DVR button 2 times on your DISH remote. This will bring up the "My Recordings" screen on your TV. Go to "Schedule" button on the right side of the screen. Press select. You should be on the "Daily Schedule" screen. Go to "Timers" button on the right of the screen. Press select. You are now on the "Timers List" screen. Select one of the programs scheduled to be recorded and press "Select". You are now on the "Timer Schedule" screen. Go to "Options" button and press select. You are now on the "Timer Options" screen. This is the screen you can set your preference for the "start early" and "stop late" settings. Be sure to select the "Set as System Default" if you want to apply this setting to all your recordings.
