first try using the volume bar on the side while in text mode with text showing, if not go into settings from the menu( bottom left below the screen) and then look for display, choose font size(just below font style), change from large to medium or small. hope this helps.
you need to change the tv back to the input your cable box is connected to. Look for a input button on your remote and keep pushing it until it gets to the right input(your cable will come back on). if that doesn't work go into your televisions menu and look for inputs on the menu and go through them till you find the right one. if you have any questions leave a comment on this thread and i will help you out.

when you are looking at the text message, hit the volume buttons on the side of your phone to make it bigger or smaller! the same thing happened to me.
Most likely it's your memory ic (eprom). Sometimes depending on the make, an authorized service center can flash the eprom back to normal. This is something you can not do but I hope this helps a little.
If the television is connected to a cable box such as Time Warner's HD box, the picture mode can be changed by pressing the '#' on the cable box's remote keypad (where the channel numbers are). This cycles the picture between zoom, normal, and stretch which could be cause of your problem.
