If this is a Garmin unit, you can call their tech support and they will walk you through the activation. Make sure you have all included CDs or written material, codes, etc with you when you call.

I got mine last night and all works fine - even though I had to disconnect it and reconnect it to see the internal memory content (preloaded) on the flash drive of the GPS. Once I saw the maps and other data, the Drag & Drop of MP3's worked as expected (using XP). I set up Active Sync as a guest account. Love the unit so far. Easy to use and fast response.

No you have to go to the website. If you are wanting to update the maps there will probably be a charge. But the software and firmware is usually free. Hope this helps.

hi did you install the software straight to your route 66 maxi using route 66 sync software ? if you did try downloading it to your computer then transfer it on to the memory card using a card reader
