Husqvarna 141 starts with choke and then cuts out

If the chainsaw has been used recently i would say It sounds like the screen filter inside the carburetor is dirty item # 507432582 or the metering diaphragm is dried out item # 530035165. Also check that the fuel lines are in good shape. If that doesn't solve your problem you should do a pressure and vacuum test to check the seals and gaskets.

. Have a 350 Husqvarna chainsaw which idles

This sounds like fuel starvation, replace the fuel filter in the fuel tank, if this does not help, when it starts to die just slacken off the fuel filler cap, if it picks up and runs normaly then it is a tank braeather issue, the breather is on the top right hand corner of the fuel tank, replace it.

My saw starts fine but will not stay running. I rebuilt the carburator but still will not run.

If it is running fast at idle or you cannot adjust it. You may have a leaky crankshaft seal . Also check the hose and filter inside the gas tank for any breaks or clogged filter.

check air leaks between cilinder and carburator, if its ok- fine, check rebuid carburator.

I have a McCulloch 3516 chainsaw and need advice on how to adjust the carburator. It starts but runs for a short time and dies.

You say runs a short time, seconds or minutes ? Seconds could be carb setting, minutes could be fuel mix ratio. let me know.
