Have a customer that is uploading a .zip file made with WinRAR on a PC to our FTP Server Server 2003, when we try to use WinRar to unzip the file after copying it from the FTP server to a PC we get a Diagnostic Message: The archive is corrupt. I've also tried uncompressing the file on the FTP server itself, using the default windows unzip, it also reports that the file is corrupt. The customer says that after he uploads it to the FTP server, he can download it back and then uncompress the file just fine. We are not experiencing the same problems with anyone elses files. I double checked the login account permissions, and they are exactly as they are supposed to be. Any one have any idea what our customer is doing wrong?
Maybe is uploading to the FTP site using ascii transfer type, once on the FTP connections, you should use binary type.
that is done with the command bin:
The following FTP Command will set the file transfer mode to BINARY (the binary mode transfers all eight bits per byte and must be used to transfer non-ASCII files). ) and display the information.
ftp> binary
200 Type set to I.
ftp
