All of the sudden my Maytag Performa washing machine does not respond to the 'superwash cycle'

This machines timer is bad ,basically you have bad contacts in the timer ,that why it only works at certain parts of cycle

This can be fault on the memory of the program controller as none of the other programs are being executed. Please remove the panel and processor controller board. Check for moisture or connection issues. If not this can be confirmed only with a swap and a new one should not be bought unless this is confirmed.

It drains through the holes in the plastic tub. You may hear a sloshing sound when you move the tub and this is normal. There is a solution sealed inside the tub on this unit to balance out the spin cycle.

Theres a pin on the timer that needs to be pulled out

CHECK THE TIMER AND SEE IF YOU CAN FIX IT. THAT IS USUALLY THE FIRST SIGN THAT YOUR WASHER DOESN'T WORK. ON THE OTHER HAND, IT COULD BE ANY NUMBER OF THINGS, BUT CHECK THE TIMER FIRST. IT SHOULDN'T BE THAT HARD TO REPLACE THE TIMER.

needs a new timer switch sometimes cheaper to buy another dryer (used)

I ordered/waiting for a new timer as suggested, and hopefully this will fix my problem. I will post a response after I get the part.

yes it sounds like a timer fault

There are to devices that can cause this. The lid switch and the water level control valve.
