Let me elaborate. On your phone press the:
1. Menu--scroll to Tools & Settings---press OK
2. Look for Security, press OK
3. Enter the last 4 digits of your phone #, or whatever you set the lock code to.
4. There should be an option to delete contacts. Becareful not to press the Reset Default option, for it will erase everything (ringtones, pix, filx, screensavers, etc..)
**If the Security option is not seen in the Tools and Settings, then choose Call Settings or Phone Settings. It should be in one of these.

I am curios ..did this happen when you allowed an update from samsung ..?
Same thing happened to me
First off the phone stopped opening on finger print
That was ok i still had the number unlocke
Then after 2 weeks or so that too stoped working
I had used a massive amount of data and photo's
Dozens of contacts, i daily sent and got dozens of texts
And made at least 4o calls a day
I belive they consider it unfair usage and block the phone
Factory rest sorted the phone cleared everthing
But most data was lost
I wont use an android again.
I now have an iphone :)
