I left silicone guard on grates and put on self cleaning. My oven is now filled with a white powder.

Thank you for your inquiry, Cheryl!

I understand that you left the silicone guard on the grates and turned on self-cleaning, now you have white powder inside of your Frigidaire range. This can be removed by using hot water, baking soda, and a non-abrasive cloth. It may take elbow grease in order to remove the white powder. I would recommend not using the oven until you have removed the white powder. I hope this information is helpful for you. -Matt

Same problem here, but after cleaning numerous times there is a white film on the walls that won't come off. Can I still use the oven?

I forgot silicone rack covers during a self clean cycle. I now have white powder all over the oven. The powder repels water. Once it is cleaned up is it safe to use the oven?

Food grade silicone (what is used to make the rack guards) pyrolizes at the much higher oven cleaning temperatures. The white powder is what is left from that process....which a number of people (who have done the same thing) indicate is not easy to remove so good luck.
But your exposure to anything was probably worst during the pyrolysis as compared to what was left (white powder). If you are successful in removing it ... I would run the oven again in self clean mode ... check to make sure no other residue shows up ... and then use the oven as normal

I self cleaned my oven but failed to take sheet I had that I purchased at bed barh and beyond and wh n finished cleaning there is a white powder all over everything. What can I do

Was this a bed sheet? Remove the white powder and wipe the oven with a damp cloth. Then, go to Bed "Barh" and Beyond and buy another sheet.

Tappan self cleaning oven

You plobably have the incorrect drip pans that do not have the proper holes for the grates to fit in, I would chech with an appliance repairman, he should have a source for the correct drip pans.

Left a silicone liner in a self-cleaning oven when I cleaned it

JUST SCRAPE IT OFF IF YOU CAN. OTHERWISE RUN ANOTHER CYCLE AND BURN THE REST OUT OF THERE.

OR JUST USE IT AS LONG AS YOU DONT SMELL ANYTHING BAD.
