Could it run on either 110 or 220 there should be a switch on the motor to chage between 110 and 220 and on device characteristics it should specify. voltage capability

There should be a label on the motor that explains the capability.

A very advanced table saw may have a motor that can be wired for either 110 or 220. The table saw I can afford would have a either a 220 or 110 motor.

How to replace a run capacitor

a55bbd5a-3830-424f-9188-3f0edd4cf88a.jpg
A Run capacitor has 2 terminals, they go to the Run and Start winding terminals, in this case the Line 2 leg of power is wired to the Run terminal on the run capacitor, that is due to the fact this is a single speed motor and speeds are on the Run winding, had there been 2 speeds, the Line 2 leg of power could not be wired to the Run capacitor but would be going to the High or Low speed terminals, conversely the Run terminal on the compressor can accept only 1 lead.
All electric motors get 1 leg of power directly to the Common lead, the remaining leg of power Always goes to the Run winding or speeds on the run winding if a multispeed motor.
Some compressors have a shared capacitor with 3 terminals, they share the leg of power to their Run windings however to Hermetic it will be say 30 MFD and to Fan it will be say 5 MFD, but as to capacitor theory they get Run and Start Always
Power can be wired to Run on the capacitor as long as the motor is a single speed.
But power ALWAYS goes to Common directly while the remaining leg of power goes to the Run winding or Speeds on the Run winding as in High and Low speeds.

If you're troubleshooting HVAC electrical problems

230 volt single phase ac
The Common wire or circuit on an A/C or heat pump never has a run capacitor in that line.
The Run wire always has the run capacitor in that line or circuit.

115 volt ac
The Run or Hot wire has the run capacitor and the neutral wire does not.

So if you are tracing wires out in a circuit, if there's a run capacitor, it's the Run wire or Run circuit.
The Start wire always goes to the opposite side of the run capacitor than the Run wire and it is the only wire on that side of the capacitor.
The Run wire goes to the run capacitor, then goes to contactor, compressor, start capacitor or fan, so there's usually two wires on the Run side of the capacitor.

When furnace runs blower won't run.as soon as furnace stops blower runs. They never both run.

Sounds like fan limit switch/fan timer

This will cause the main burner to run untill the over tempreture switch is tripped therefore shuting gas supply and running fan on high till over heat condition is resolved then it will restart burner and repeat
continuing to run heater like this will cause heat exchanger split.

Diagram of wiring on Miele dryer

Hello cpopp101,
Please follow the link and goto page 30 for the electrical requirements. The manual is for the T8012 but all the dryers are the same for electrical. Goto page 30. There is usually a seperate fuse box for these (Depending on how old the dryer is) in which you may want to contact Miele to see if you have

Dayton Motor and capacitors for Carrier AC Unit (model # 38ck030300)

The 2 brown wires to the cap in first legend is how they are wired electrically, inside that motor the run winding is common to that brown one they cappped off in the 2nd option, but the powers still going to Run.ommon and run get the juice either way, its just another way to do it, but electrically as to sides of power and where they go is no different, just different way to do it.you can run power in on the Run terminal on the run cap, the run winding and run cap and start cap if equipped are Run to Run to Run.So the hot leg for the run winding also goes to run on the caps, run to run to run.,run winding to run cap to run on start cap.
