First you have to establish what is wrong. A real paper jam, or a defect sensor, bad cabling or a bad logic board.
Things a user can do is checking if really nothing is in the printer blocking the fear flow of paper or is something is stuck against a sensor. When you made sure nothing is in the printer, don't go further. You need a service centre or a new printer.
Sorry

HAVING A 13.20.00 ERROR CODE ON A HP 43OO. PLEASE HELP!!

JAM IN TOP COVER AREA
A jam exists in the top-cover area.
A 13.20.00 error message indicates that the printer power was turned on or that the printer attempted to initialize while the pre-feed sensor (PS102), the top of page sensor (PS102) and/or the fuser delivery sensor (PS108) was detecting media.

When the paper feed assembly is installed, the sensor-flag spring must be correctly positioned
for the flag to operate. If a paper-jam error message (13.20.00 JAM) appears on the control-panel
display after you replace the paper feed assembly, verify that this sensor-flag spring is installed
correctly.
Hook the spring over the flag tab (see 1 in Figure). Fasten the paper feed assembly to the
chassis with the flag spring positioned in the hole in the transfer assembly. Release the spring
from the tab on the flag (see 2 in Figure). See figure below.
Verify that the flag is held in the upright position, can freely move, and always returns to the upright
position. If the flag does not move freely, or return to the upright position, an error
message (13.20.00 JAM) will appear on the control-panel display when the printer power is turned
on.

MFC-640CW Switch on error message: "Unable to Init! - User Guide says this is a mechanical fault or jam - not a jam all clear. There is an empty Cyan ink cartridge message as well which is correct. Also...

If there is no jam it is generally a mechanical issue such as...

1. The planetary arm assembly not engaged correctly
2. Ink cartridge/purge switch harness not connected correctly
3. Purge cam switch broken
4. Gear(s) on maintenance unit broken
5. Paper feed motor broken
6. Main PCB defective

I find that if there was a paper jam, and the user pulled the paper out, option 4 is most likely. It is the smallest of cracks but ruins everything!

You will need to contact your local ASC for repair, find it here.

Printer Error E3

E3 error -
If paper has jammed in the machine, clear the jam, reload the paper in the machine correctly and then press [Black] or [Color].

The above is direct from the user manual.
If there is no paper jam - look for any small pieces of paper that could be located near the roller sensor.

Flashing light

Here is what HP has on the subject of the triangle light flashing:
c00028322.gif 1 - Attention Light 2 - Ready Light 3 - Go Light Figure 2: Printer light key c00028323.gif 1 - Symbol for light off 2 - Symbol for light on 3 - Symbol for light blinking
c00028328.gif Door open, media out, no print cartridge, or media jam

The printer is in an error state that requires operator intervention or help. Check the following:
  • The print cartridge door is completely closed.
  • Media is loaded.
  • The print cartridge is correctly installed in the printer.
  • There is no media jam.

Figure 8: Paper jam c00028328.gif 13.JJ.NT JAM IN TRAY 1

13.JJ.NT JAM IN TRAY X

The Attention LED is blinking. Check paper loading then open and close top cover.

When there is a jam in tray 1, verify the paper is loaded correctly, open and close the top cover. Pressing GO is ignored.

When there is a jam in tray X, verify the paper is loaded correctly, open and close the top cover. Pressing GO is ignored. These are the error explanations for just the flashing triangle light, there are many more, but none for just the flashing triangle.

If the light pattern is different let me know (other lights on as well)
-Hope this helps.

Canon s520

The number of orange flashes between green flashes indicates the type of error, as outlined below. Check the cause and take the appropriate action. Two flashes: Out of paper, paper jam or paper feed error Replace the paper correctly and press the RESUME/CANCEL button. If paper has jammed in the printer, clear the jam and press the RESUME/CANCEL button. Three flashes: Paper jam If paper has jammed in the printer, clear the jam, replace the paper in the printer correctly and press the RESUME/CANCEL button. Four flashes: Empty ink tank One of the ink tanks is empty. Replace it. If all of the above won't help, unplug the printer from the power cable, wait a while, and plug in. If that didn't fix you, I guess it's time to get in touch with canon, or a repair lab you trust. Good luck
