SOURCE: Mower will not stop when clutch is depressed

When you replaced the belt you either got a shorter belt or you have rerouted the belt wrong. You might try and get an original; belt and replace the one on the tractor. Good Luck-David

Look under the seat of your tractor and note the complete Model number.
(usually begins with 917. _ _ _ _ _ _ )

Next, go to THIS PAGE and use the Model Number to find an exploded view of the steering components and how they assemble.

Hope this helps,

Toro riding mower stopped moving

If you have no forward, no reverse but the motor is still running normally the most likely reason for this is the main drive belt. This connects the motor to the transmission. If it stretches, breaks or drops off the drive pulleys you will lose all movement.

Worx mower. I was mowing fine..stopped to change bag.. Wouldn't restart when pushed the key button. handle engaged and it would power move forward. Engine would not start.battery fully charged

sounds like, a valve clearance adjustment problem. starts when cold, looses some power when hot, if turned off or stops, won't restart until cold.

Yard machines rider mower would not go back or forward, speed gears not engaging

Yard machine mowers are notorious for the shifter linkages getting bent or loose, it sounds like it's not engaging correctly and that you may need to get under it and see if anything is loose or obstructing that linkage. I know mine has that issue every season, the first thing I do is get under there and make sure everything is good to go, I tighten up the linkage and then I check the tension on the belts.

The next time you fire it up, push the clutch in all the way, apply gentle pressure to the shifter for forward and back, and then let off gently on the clutch until it pops into gear and begins to move. If you can't get it to do it that way, then I'd say you need to replace the drive belt or adjust it.

I have a John Deere LA145. It has 50 hours on it. I mowed the yard with it and then it wouldn't back up with the blades engaged and the rio button pushed. I turned off the PTO button and backed

With everything you said I never heard you say you checked the oil or put in oil Hope it didn't run tight on you.I'm not sure if your model has one but some also have safety switches under the clutch pedal . If not have you checked the hydrostatic oil im not sure if your is hydro but that could also keep it from shifting in gear and possibly keep it from starting to protect transmission. Just some ideas good luck
