Your question is general without specific details. Any one of many things will cause your generator engine to stop running.

Is this question about a Kipor KDE5000TA? If so, your generator is powered by a diesel engine. There are safety shut downs built into the generator to protect the generator head and engine. Do you have any fault codes showing on your control panel display screen? (Trouble codes P-01 through P-05 will be displayed if there's a detected fault)

If you have no fault codes, then you likely have a fuel problem. Do the obvious:

  1. Visually check the fuel level in your tank. DO NOT rely on your fuel gauge. It may be stuck or otherwise not working.
  2. If you have fuel, check your fuel filter. It may be clogged. If your fuel filter is good, you may have water contamination.
  3. Drain your tank and refill with fresh #2 diesel fuel. I use "Diesel 911" with a biocide to prevent water contamination and bacteria growth in my fuel.
  4. Make certain your fuel oil supply and return lines are clear, not leaking, and the fittings are tight.
I know I'm shotgunning, peppering the target. However, I don't have enough information to zero in on a specific area where the problem could be. Good luck!

At night its shuts down when the therm is satisfied, but trys to restart right away and when it does start it shuts down right away and just keeps doing this

The thermostat has a differential built into the temperature sensing operation. The differential is normally a degree or more. If the stat shuts down at 72 degrees it should not start the unit again until the temperature in the room reaches 73. If the AC runs and cools properly until it shuts down, I would check the thermostat. The AC can not restart immediately after it shuts off because the pressures in the system are too high at the compressor. It takes a few minutes for the pressures equalize allowing the compressor to start. If the stat tells the unit to start under high pressure, the compressor will shut down on overload. It will start and run after the pressure falls enough for the compressor motor to run.

Gateway laptop keeps shutting down

If there are no apparent software failure symptoms that are causing this, my best guess would be an overheating shutdown. Many laptops will get clogged with dirt because their intake fans are on the bottom and many users place them on laps, floors, and surfaces that allow dust and dirt to be sucked in easily. These clog up the heatsink that cools the processor. The unit has safeguards that shut down the unit if the processor gets too hot. Many units can be easily cleaned, but many others require a complicated tear-down to do this.

Dewalt Pressure washer keeps shutting off for no reason. plenty of gas and oil, water running to it. starts fine and as soon as I start spraying it shuts down.

Had a similar issue with my dewalt 4200 pw. Unit starting shutting off after spraying for about 5 min. Then difficult to restart, but would start again eventually only to shut down a few min later. Had new engine oil, new pump oil, good gas. I changed the spark plug and unit runs great again!

1998 gmc jimmy 4.3 vortec starts and runs but shuts down when reaching operating temperature.

Your fuel filter may be at it's life time and will need to be replaced. Start with the simple and replace that, the other thing also that would cause the engine to shut down would be a faulty oil pressure sending unit. What is the oil pressure on the dash when the engine shuts down. You need at least 8 PSI to have the engine stay running. Check your Fuel pressure at the shredder valve and you should be 62-65 PSI with the engine not running and fuel system energized, once the engine is running it should drop about 5PSI. The last thing that could cause this would be a bad ICM, once the ignition system heats up the ICM fails and the engine shuts down. A mentioned, start with the simple and replace the fuel filter and check your fuel pressure to ensure your fuel Sending unit has not gone bad and will need to be replaced. Good luck and keep me posted.

Oil light came on. On Interstate and drove about 9 miles to next exit. Car died on exit ramp. Will not start. Oil was about 1.5 qts low. Filled it up, but still won't start. Is there some automatic shut...

Only 1.5 qts low would not shut the engine off. It sounds like your oil pressure sending unit needs to be replaced. If the Oil pressure sending unit reads less then 8 psi or thinks there is less then 8 psi the ECM will shut the engine off. It's a simple fix and the sending unit is on the drivers side behind the distributor on the engine block. You can pick one up from Auto Zone and they can give you the step by step instructions to replacing the unit. As long as there was no bad noises coming from the engine when it shut down, it should be a simple fix. If there was any bad noises coming from the engine, then your oil pump may have gone bad and will need to be replaced and hope nothing else has failed or have gotten damaged due to lack of oil pressure. Good luck and keep me posted.

Unit shutting down and temp riseing to 100 degree

If the start relay and cap are ok then I'd say it's time for a new compressor. Have you tried running the compressor directly with a direct start circuit? cheers

The loading 'logo' wont disappear. pls help.

Hold the power button down. Keep it down until the unit powers off. Then press power to start the machine up, and as soon as you hear the starting chime (boooong) press Command+Option+P+R and keep them held down until you hear the startup sound 3 times. Then you can let go and it should start normally.
