SOURCE: Dryer Heats - Drum Turns - Clothes Don't Dry - Dryer Seems To Over Heat

Before ripping into the dryer, with the dryer running, check the vent outside. There should be a rather strong air flow. I'll bet you have little or maybe no air flow. Check behind the dryer to make sure you don't have squished flex duct. If you have flex pipe, try running the dryer for a few minutes with the dryer pulled out into the room to stretch the vent out, and check outside airflow again. Try to eliminate all or as much of the flex stuff as you can, replacing it with aluminum dryer vent pipe. (tape joints with foil duct tape) Clean out remaining dryer vent. (there are special brushes you can buy to clean out vents, but they really only work on ridgid pipe.)

SOURCE: I don't have any heat from my hotpoint aquarius ctd40G tumble dry

Remove the rear cover and you will see the element and stats, you will need a meter to test them.
Pull one wire off each thermostat and with a meter that beeps, test across each thermostat, if they are o/k, then the meter will beep,
if no beep then no good.
Replace all heater stats, even if only one has gone
If the stats are o/k then you will have to check the heater, this is more involved as it entails removing the top cover and left side panel looking at the dryer from the rear.
Unplug the heater lead, and again test with meter,if element o/k, then prob is timer or main pcb could be faulty, it really does get quite involved.
There is also a thermistor at the front of the dryer, that is part of the heating circuit.
Plz rate my solution.
Thnks.

SOURCE: Hotpoint Aquarius VTD 00 Tumble dryer no heat

Hi, it sounds like the reset stat gone on your vented drier. Remove the back cover, where the element is, and you should find two stats, one with a green spot. That's your reset stat. If you have a multimeter, turn it to buzzer and check the stat by touching the connections with the meter leads. If there's no buzzing, it's the reset stat. also check if the dark side of the stat is pushed inside. Remove the stat and hold it about 20inches from the floor. Drop it on the floor and the dark side will become flat. Repeat as many times as necessary. GUARANTEED TO WORK. Put everything back and that's it.
Cheers

SOURCE: It makes a constant squeaking noise

In most cases, this will be a worn idler pulley. I would inspect this pulley for excessive clearance.

Access to the idler pulley varies by model, if your dryer has a lower front panel (kick plate) start there. It should lift up and off or it may be held in place with a few screws or snaps; it may also have a catch at the edges or center gap between the kick panel and main panel. To release the catch, push a putty knife, wrapped with masking tape, into the gap and push back the catch. The next easiest access point is the rear panel. The rear access panel is held in place with several screws along the outer edges. The last resort method of access is the removal of the entire front panel. The front panel supports the front of the drum and so removal is more difficult. Front panel removal varies. In general, access is gained by lifting the top (remove the lint trap screws first), removing the screws that secure the front panel, and detaching the panel from the drum.

When reaching into the dryer be careful of sharp edges on the cabinet and interior supports. Reach in to the belt and give it tug. It should be taught and have only a little give. The belt should go under the idler pulley and over the motor pulley. Lift the idler pulley toward the motor to relieve tension on the belt and remove it from the motor pulley.

Turn the idler pulley wheel, it should turn smoothly, quietly and without any wobble. Inspect it for cracks or uneven wear. If the idler pulley does not maintain proper tension or is damaged it should be replaced. Depending upon your model, the entire assembly or just the wheel or bearing may be replaced.

Hotpoint CTD80 Clothes Dryer. Shows no error codes but high heat not working. Stats seem fine?

Question edited to add Maker.
Question moved to Hotpoint.

Most dryers have 2 elements, one for low, and one for medium. High heat is both elements together. My guess is that your medium element has failed and you are only getting low heat.

Test with a multimeter or call for service.

Our Miele Tumble drier (Touchtronic T8013C) dries and heat fine but the 20 minutes and 40 minutes functions do not heat (only the regular drying cycle). Any one has an answer?

i don't know. first guess is regular drying cycle makes predetermined heat levels and sensor that shuts off heat and dryer when it decides clothes are dry. 20/40 minute
choices may be fan only unless there is a manual temperature control that you can set eg. off/low/med/high..

Hotpoint Aquarius TDL30 tumble dryer timer not advancing

fmw76:

This could be a timer issue or a thermostat.
If you are using a timed dry it would be timer .
If you are using an auto dry cycle it would possibly be a thermostat.
