Fuel consumption in stationary motors relies on the load on the motor, choke position and air filter cleanliness
a rated load on a gen set is considerable less than advertised power rate
that means that if you have a gen set bought at 5.5 kva, the continuous rating is actually 4.5 kva and anything more puts considerable load on the motor and increases the fuel consumption
the difference in the ratings is to allow for the extra surge required on electric motor start up
add up all the appliances that you have going at once and see ti it is close to max out put as that may be a start of you consumption problems

Poor gas mileage on 2011 kia sorento

There are many things that can affect fuel consumption from incorrect tyre pressures or bad wheel alignment to problems with the engine.

Checking for and rectifying problems to achieve the best fuel consumption can be a rather protracted process and should always begin with an accurate fuel consumption figure. Poor fuel consumption is a common complaint but is often associated with people becoming used to a car they haven't owned for very long - driving it harder and loading it with "junk".

Winter too can adversely affect fuel consumption, especially when used for short commutes.
Another factor could be the way fuel is bought - often by a fixed amount of cash. When there is a price rise then less fuel is obtained for the money but is often perceived as an increased consumption.

Hoe do I fix high fuel consumption in my car?

IN order to improve fuel consumption you must make the engine run more efficiently. here are the most important ways.
typical maintenance. (check the manual)

1. check air in tires
2. oil and oil filter change
3. spark plugs change (TUNE UP)
4. air filter change

you personally can do most of these things. go to local walmart and get most of these items. very easy.

good luck.

What is the best mitsubishi lancer 2000 / 1600 cc motor gas consumption ???? last time i checked it was 400 k.m per 41 liter . is it good or it could be better ?!?!?

the factory mileage for fuel should be 7.2 litres per 100km but the fuel consumption will change as the car gets older so its only normal but you could improve on your fuel consumption by tuning the car

hope this helps XD

High fuel consumption, could it be coolant sensor

I'd be looking at a partially clogged fuel filter first choice. Also check for a possible small fuel line leak. Question for you- when was last "healthy" tune up? A plugged air filter, worn spark plugs and colder weather all contribute to a "high fuel consumption"

Hi i have a 318i bmw 2001 my fuel consumption is

Last month, my wife complained of high gas usage as well. I suddenly remembered that I had forgotten to change the air filter the last time I did the oil change. It had been over 5 months since I'd put a new one in. So, we got a new air filter, and monitored the usage, and it was back to normal again. Maybe try this?

My 156 sportswagon is burning fuel badly i put 2 gallons in and only got 31 miles for this i can hear an air leak coming from top of engine would this be a likley cause for such poor fuel consumption it's...

an air leak would weaken the mix of fuel to air so giving you better fuel efficiency but a poor power output.
was my last answer not to your liking, re **** fuel consumption on all fiat/alpha cars.but it is true, ask any owner........14.7 average mpg.......£205 road tax.....(tax it for a year and quadruple its value...)

it has gotta be the o2 sensor, map sensor, or the mass air flow meter.............. these are the main inputs to the computer that controls the fuel control....let me know how that works out please
