You need a step down transformer, to convert 220V to 110V. You can't just plug the 110V A/C unit in directly unless it is clearly marked as being suitable for multi-voltage supply (110V - 220V input).

Such a transformer has to be of sufficient capacity to handle the current, or wattage, that will be required. The Frigidaire unit in your question is a 3.5 kW cooling capacity, so the transformer would need to be about the same, ie for a 10A supply at least. They are quite big boxes, about $120.

You would put this in the roof or in a cupboard.

If the 220 volts a/c outlet is on a two pole circuit breaker by itself, no other outlets, and there is 110 volts available in your circuit breaker box, then you can move one of the wires from the existing two pole breaker to the neutral buz, where all the other white wires are connected, and replace the 220 volt outlet with a 120 volt outlet, the wire that was moved to the neutral needs to be marked white on both ends and connected to the silver colored screw terminal on the new 120 volt receptacle outlet. This is how you convert from 220 to 120 receptacle convenience outlet on a 220/110 volts electric service system.

Can i plug a 110 air conditioners into a 220 plug in

Hi Shawn:
A 110 air conditioner would only use 1/2 of the available 220, so , the answer is yes, with a great BIG CAUTION!!!!!
You have to know how to safely wire in the appropriate plug.
- 220 usually will have 4 wires: Red, Black, White, and Green.
You get 220 between the red and black, the White is available for 110 to drive a fan or whatever.
- 220 sometimes only has 3 wires: Red, Black, and green
Here you have 220 with no 110, like a baseboard heater.
- 110 has 3 wires: RED OR BLACK, White, and Green.
You get 110 between the Red or Black and the white.
The White is called Neutral.
Do not use the green wire as a neutral if there is no white.
The green wire is a ground and is for safety purposes.

PLEASE!!!! If this is not perfectly clear and within your ability, DO NOT TRY TO WIRE IT! Get someone who is trade certified to help you. Also, don't even think about messing with the wiring unless the circuit breaker is turned off..

Need new power control unit plug old one into 220 volt instead of 110 volt. can power unit only bee replaced

If yo mean power socket, you can get it from electrical shop.

If you mean the input power, you have to use booster (Transformer_). 110vts to 220vts.

Thanks.

If it is a 110 unit, use a regular wall receptacle ,if it is a 220 unit, use a 220 receptacle for 220 it will be made larger and different.Draw a picture of the plug on the end of the cord and go to the hardware store and get them to help you i d the plug.some 110 units are 40 amp,and are a little different than the regular 110 house hold 20 amp receptacle.

Circuit breaker

Happy to assist,

HOW MANY BTU IS THE AIR CONDITIONER?
And is it 110 or 220 line!

If it is using 110 or 115 volts like normal house current and it throws circuit breakers in your electric box, then you need to run a dedicated line just for the Air Conditioner!
Usually this happens to 110 -115 volt air-conditioners that are more than 12,000 BTU and do not have a dedicated electric line in the wall only for the air conditioner!

New air conditioners have a circuit breaker built into the units plug!
And I have seen some that throw that breaker to off frequently even if it's only an electric surge! Which it should not do!
if its the case and it's new, take it back to the store and ask for a different model, size, or brand!
Fedders had an 18,000 BTU/ 110-115 volt unit that did this with every single unit last year! I stopped selling that unit only!!
