SOURCE: Door won't open on Samsung washer

This has happened to me twice. Both times I found the drain pump seized up with
1st time) The right rim from a pair of reading glasses
2nd time) A plastic toothpick
Both times the object was in the discharge port of the pump. You can see this by lifting the check valve with the pump removed. Removing the pump is simple. Unplug the washer. You have to remove the drain line from where its attached to the rear of the machine (one screw) to remove the rear access panel which slides into upper and lower slots. You will see the pump with an inlet and discharge line attached. The lines have simple squeeze clamps. When you remove the lines, you will drain the wash basin so have towels and a squeegie handy. Remove both lines and wait until the basin drains. When it stops draining remove the pumps electrical connector by squeezing the release catch on it while pulling it. The connector can only go on one way. Remove the 3 hold-down bolts on the pump baseplate. Remove the pump and lift open the discharge check valve and you'll find something there I guarantee it. Remove with needle nose pliers and re-assemble in reverse order.
This is actually a good design because the computer protects the pump by sensing a higher than normal current draw when foreign debris gets jammed in it. It will trigger the ND (No Drain) code and sometimes lock the door. Always check this first before you call the expensive repair man. If its not a jammed pump it will most likely be the control panel/processor. Good luck and always clean out pockets before loading the washer to prevent this,

SOURCE: Hello, my frigidaire washer wont spin and draim

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
When washers will not drain it is normally caused by a blocked filter/drain pump/motor so before doing anything else try this-
I would gently suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor/pump lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters and many machines will not even go to rinse or spin or release the door lock if there is any water still left inside.
Here are my complete and generic guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!). These panels are either held on by (plasic) screws or will just pull off. Most filters are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play.

REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT (alternatively use a wet vac as sensibly suggested by VinnyB1234!)
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. Using something suitable like a glove see if it is easy to briefly slow the motor down. If it is easy then the motor is malfunctioning.

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

How do I resolve the error message "Printer Access Door Open" (error code 3501 or 3609)? Published 08/25/2010 11:38 AM ' Updated 01/07/2011 08:40 AM ' Answer ID 1467 How do I resolve the error message "Printer Access Door Open" (error code 3501 or 3609)? To resolve this error, close the printer access door. The printer will not operate while the door/cover is open.

If the error continues even after you close the printer access door, power cycle the printer:
  1. Turn off the power (press the On/Off button on the printer).
  2. Unplug the printer power cord from the back of the printer.
  3. Wait approximately 30 seconds.
  4. Plug the printer power cord into the back of the printer.
  5. Turn on the power to the printer.

Hoover washer/dryer VHW854D SHOWS ERROR CODE E11. Machine switched off and door opened. Wash cycle had not started. Door closed and machine switched on and all works OK. Any ideas?

I have exactly the same problem. Hoover Service Centre told me to tip a bucket of warm water into the drum and leave for 5 minutes before switching it back on. The idea is that the machine may be affected by the cold weather. Needless to say it made no difference and Error 11 remains - I am expecting an engineer on Thursday 23 I'll keep you posted on the outcome.

This washer has an error code of DDO, Dispenser door open, would you think a sensor issue or something more?

Hi,

The meaning for ddo error means"Dispenser Drawer Open" .To rectify this problem you should try opening and closing the door shut. There will be a magnet which shows that the door is closed or open. The magnet is underneath the dispenser door, you have to remove the dispenser from the washer, then take apart the dispenser itself to view the magnet. If the magnet is missing you have to replace it.
Thank you !!

Downloaded explorer 8, now cant open anything at all. just says isass.exe system error, security accounts manager initalization failed because of the following error. The handle is invalid. error status:...

Well then... you should restart your machine and press F8 (on your keyboard) continuously until prompted with a menu.

Select the option "last known good configuration"... that should bring your machine back to how it was before IE screwed it up.

Hope this helps!?
