Thank you again for trying to help. I do appreciate it. However I found that link too but it has this note... Before running this updater, the HDWriter AE2.0 supplied with Hivision digital video cameras (HDC-TM70/TM60/TM55/HS60/SD66/SD60) must be installed. And I do not have the original disc

you dont need the disc, you need to have the software from that disc, installed on your comp,if you already have the software, you are set to download from there,if you dont, then you need to get the software,i will look for it

I have lost hd writer 1.0

Maybe you get one from one of your friends, who may have Panasonic camcorder too. Otherwise, it is impossible to install HD Writer AE without the CD.

What are you trying to do with HD Writer AE?

I have problems installing the software HD Writer AE 1.0 on Windows Vista SP2. I also tried typing the numbers 9 alphanumeric under the camera but are not accepted.

Did you install HD Writer AE under the Administrator account? Some software would require the Admin to run.

If you would like to backup the files from camcorder to PC, just copy and paste between the drives. It shall be straightforward, as the cam could be recognized as a device when connected via USB 2.0. Alternatively, you can try Aunsoft Final Mate to backup the videos.

Have installed HD Writer AE 1.0 for HDC on laptop running Vista. Works OK. Have tried to install on PC running Win 7 but won't load. Is there a way to upgrade software to run on a Windows 7...

If you have the CD with HD Writer AE, justfollow the steps below:
1. Go to the Administrator account and download the update software from: http://cnc.asp.hi-ho.ne.jp/cnc/global_cs/software/win7/Setup.exe

2. Insert the CD-ROM with the HD Writer AE1.0.

3. Double click the Setup.exe you just downloaded, and follow the procedure.

A free alternative to backup videos from camcorder to hard drive without HDWriter AE on Windows 7: Aunsoft Final Mate.

I can not download form HDC-SD20 use by HD writer

I have same problem. I have Panasonic HDC-TM20 video camera. It came with HDWriter ae 1.0 software. I have ACER alptop, running XP. Everything was running fine for months, but now I cannot transfer from the video camera to the hard disk on my computer. It attempts to do it, but then it just does nothing for ages. CPU usage shoots up high. When I kill the application, it does die, but process continues so I need to re-boot mt laptop before I can load it again. Is these any one out there who has resolved this issue?

HD Writer AE 1.0 won't import my videos to laptop

Hi There, few things to follow:
1. Install an update from Panasonic website at www.panasonic.net (This is a pack of 4 files you need to download 1 by 1) 2. Plug your camcorder to the back usb and not in the front port. 3. Disable your Resident Shield on your anti-virus.
Done!

Problem with HD writer 2.0E

The reason for this error is that there is a conflict between HD Writer and other software on your computer. I was trying to find a solution for weeks before Panasonic advised me to remove other DVD burning software on my computer. I therefore removed Pinnacle and DVD decrypter (which I believe was causing the problem), reinstalled HD Writer and then everything worked fine. Note however that the DVD-RW discs I had tried to use before were corrupted and couldn't be reformatted and therefore once you have removed the other software and reinstalled HD Writer, start again with new DVD-RW discs. Good Luck.

Hd writer 2.0E fro sx/sd

I had this same issue...I bet you're using DVD-R, am I correct?

Apparently you can't copy video from DVD-R to the HD Writer. Period. Just can't do it. (Would be nice if they mentioned this in the manual.)

You can only use DVD-RW and must format the disc to VR format, not Video format.

I'm using a program called Handbrake (free) which I think can convert your .vob files (from the Video_TS folder on your DVD) to quicktime files, or similar, so that you can actually do something with the video...

Best of luck, I'm really no expert, and I probably won't return to this page, so a reply to me is likely not going to be read by me...
