That is right. Not only you need a password, to open the PC and be able to run the programm's, the password is also a key for encription of the data. No password, no data.
When you do a reset, and install Windows again, you will lose all data on the computer. So is you really can't remember the password and you did not make a mistake with the caps, you should be lost.
I know there are some less legal program's around, but I can't tell you what programs and I even don't know a name. I think you better use Google, to find out which program's are available and how to get them. Perhaps via news groups. But be aware program's to hack a password, come from a certain community. When you have a program, didconnect the computer from the net, try to recover the password and backup the data unscrambled. Then run a good virus scanner and delete the program.
