I have lots of lint that gets trapped under and all around lint filter and it is very hard to get out - why is it not being contained? GE Dryer DBVH512EFOWW front load.

Hi rstebly...
Sometimes the problem is with the lint filter itself...
If you use "dryer sheets" they can plug up the holes in the lint filter with a kind of waxy substance and that will impair the air getting thru the filter causing the lint and air to find another way out, not thru the filter but thru the machine.
I would suggest you take the filter out and wash/scrub, lightly it in hot soapy water, let dry, then reinstall the filter.
You should also check the blower /blower tube and the inside of your dryer for lint buildup also, as lint buildup can cause dryer fires.
Hopefully this will solve your problem

Dryer "clean lint filter" message

Hello. Begin by unplugging the plug on the dryer. Then pull out the filter and thoroughly examine the space that the filter slides into looking for any lint. Remove any lint that you find. Put the filter back and lastly plug the dryer back in.

These steps should solve the problem. If not, then the lint sensor has gone bad and should be replaced. If you wish to do that yourself you can go to searspartsdirect.com. Enter the model number of the dryer and then you will see the parts diagrams allowing you to locate that lint sensor, and even order a new one. Joe

Ijwant to dry my cloth but when i turn on it appear check filter how i am going to fix

You should empty the lint filter. The lint filter catches all the lint from your clothes and will need cleaned occassionally. I clean my lint filter after every load. Towels usually clog the filter faster than other clothes.

Lint filter not blocking lint

Make sure it isn't bent or has any holes in it and is sealing around the edges. If not, replace it .

GE top load washer w/no lint trap leaves excessive lint

Most US-sold washers made after the mid 1980s don't have lint filters. The manufacturers weasel-word around it by saying that the lint "goes down the drain", leading people to optimistically assume that there is a self-cleaning filter in there somewhere. There usually isn't and whatever lint doesn't go down the drain is filtered by your cloths (but whatever does might clog your septic system). As a result of this scam, it's much harder to hang-dry or iron-dry clothes that haven't been hand washed. And, if you think spending $2000 on a pair of matched "front-load" style machines will solve this, you might be wrong; many of those washers still have no lint filter.

Front loading dryer

The check filter light is just a reminder light and cannot be reset.  Nothing to worry about.  Just keep the filter clean before each use.
