My BMW 118i year 2005 just died while driving.it won't start at all. Two weeks ago it was showing che engine light, took it to the mechanic. It came back and one day after, the light appeared again.

Sorry to hear about your problems. BMWs are complex and you need to take them to a BMW specialist that is competent to diagnose problems with the car and has the correct diagnostic equipment.
Clearly the mechanic who worked on your car fixed nothing because the CE light was still on after he messed with it and then the car stopped because the fault or faults were never properly diagnosed.

There are numerous causes for the CE light to display (it's a very long list) and the scan tool he used to pull up fault codes, which is probably what he did, would not have even necessarily pulled them all up so a proper diagnosis could be done. I expect he pulled up some fault codes, guessed what the issue was and replaced a part or 2 and handed you the bill and now you don't have a driveable car.

If you want the car fixed then get it to a high quality BMW specialist or to BMW dealer service center. They will scan for the fault codes the computer is generating and they can then begin their diagnosis and testing to determine the cause of the fault codes. Until that is done they cannot fix the car. Yes that may get expensive but that goes with these cars if you want to keep them running well.

BMWs are no more reliable than any other major brands and are typically complex and are mostly costly to repair in both parts and labor costs. So are other German made cars like Mercedes, Audi and VW. That is reflected in their used car values. If you want to own and drive one of these, diagnosing problems when they arise, repairing them and replacing the parts that will be needed will be expensive so bear that in mind when looking at used cars in future.

BMW X3 speedometer not working. code p0500 , p0503

code p 0500 and 503 both refer to the vehicle speed sensor(VSS)---circuit malfunction or intermittent/ errattic high input====causes wiring-=--VSS---ECM--wiring poor connection--other connected system---instrument panel---VSS---communication control module
to have the abs light on I would be checking the communication control module or the ECM

Just bought 1.4t 2010 meriva showing code21 any answers

You need a code reader(expensive) or a Vauxhall/Opel specialist unless anybody reading this knows what the code means. Have you tried the owners club forums?

My abs light on and brake light wont I'm getting gear engaged without brake that when my brake light stayed on can anybody help I put new battery new brakes new sensors front and back it won't reset...

Without a scan-tool it is a lot harder to look at live data and codes. The ABS light is on due to the ABS module identifying a failure within the system. Can you have the codes read and forward them to me, before you continue? I don't know if you replaced the Battery, front and rear Brakes and Sensors, because you thought it would help or because they were in failure. It sounds like you have a code reader. How else would you know if the rear sensor code/s reset? Please write-back with specific details about your BMW. You are the eyes and ears of project. The more you can elaborate on vehicle information and all of the above, the better I can help you. I will say, from your description, it sounds like your brake-light switch has either lost power or is worn out (broken). Without a working brake-light switch, your ABS system can not operate correctly and TCC (torque convertor clutch) inside your transmission won't release, when requested to. Look into this circuit and let me know what you find, good luck.

Transm fault just showed up on my 2004 BMW 525 I. What could this be. Anybody with any idea

A fault code detected form the transmission and determining cause can be from a actuator a solenoid to a fuse or a sensor.

Check engine light comes on

when the engine light on, it means your car has the obd2 code problem, you need a tool to read out and delete the code, then turn the light off, I know this tool is helpful for BMW. Or may be you can take your car to the BMW dealer, they will test the code then show you how to fix it. Or put your code here, i can tell you how to fix. hope help.
