The rating for the capacitors is printed /imprinted on the capacitors
take them along with the information you have given to a electrical motor rewind shop and they will match them up

Testimonial: "If only it was that easy someone removed and misplaced them"

take the details of the motor as in your question to a motor re-winder shop and hey will know what the capacitors were. take a description of the connectors on the ends of the wires as well to get capacitors that will just fit straight on

Most capacitors have labeling for farads and voltage, printed on them.

LR22132, 5hp,3450rpm, 60hz,XM56FR, KVA code- D, Type-T,230volt, 15amp Doeer motor. Capacitor went out, do you have a part number for the replacement capacitor?

Most of the time the capacitor is listed on the motor, if not it should be on the capacitor itself. If it's enclosed you may have to remove the cover to find it,

What capacitors do i need to get to replace the ones on a 6 hp motor

Due to the nature of power factor correction and other sizing criteria it is best to open the can on the motor that protects the capacitor and order a comparable unit for capacitance, number of sections (- ie, start/run versus Start or Run) plus capacity and working volts AC. Unless ordering from the original compressor supply company, most parts houses will not have a cross reference with that data.

Campbell Hausfeld Air Compressor 1.8hp 135 max psi 20 gal wl611800aj the prob is there is a fluild leaking from the motor

You compressor is listed as being oil free. The only liquids that could possibly leak out of the motor (if still from factory condition) is black substance from overheated capacitor/s or grease from a failing bearing. Remove capacitor covers and check for failed cap. Motor bearings will become noisy before failure. Capacitors are available from motor repair shops and many times on ebay. Replace with same uf rating and same or higher voltage. Some caps are larger /smaller with same reading (notice size so cap cover will fit). Good luck

Compressor starts innitially, then when pressure gets low it trips breaker when it tries to start back up.20 amp breaker to light switch to compressor is about 2o ft on12-2 wire. tried 30 amp breaker,does...

the start capacitor on the motor body is weak, the motor needs this component to over come the air pressure when cycling to re-build the low air pressure, change both the start and run capacitors when doing the start because the other run capacitor is just as old and it will soon fail

I have a 20 gal 3 hp Craftsman air compressor. It will start up, come up to pressure & shut off. When air is used and it needs to start up again, the motor tries to start and quits ??

The motor should be a capacitor start type--if the capacitor is failing, the starting torque will be weak. Also, if the 'unloader' valve is not working (not sure if this compressor uses one), the compressor is trying to start against tank pressure which needs fairly high starting torque from the motor. Be sure to power the unit from adequately sized outlet and any extension cord. The thermal switch in the motor may be excessively sensitive to overloads. Go to: www.searspartsdirect.com and enter the model number minus the decimal point to get to a series of drawings of replaceable parts. Hope some of this helps!

I have a Sanborn Black Max 22 gal. compressor Mod#B109BLR300-22SWC. The motor is a Magnetic/Century 3 H.P. 115v Model 8-165730-20 Ser# BF-532 15A-7.5 RPM 3450. It is missing the run and start capacitors....

Sanborn/Coleman was bought out by MAT Solutions. A website I found lists Sanborn/Coleman compressors and parts but it does not show your model number. It does say, however, to email them with your model number and they will be able to find your parts for you. I have included the link for you here: http://www.mastertoolrepair.com/colemansanborn-portable-parts-freedirect-drive-electric-c-271_35_172_178.html

Craftsman compressor motor/capacitor problem?

I had the same tripped breaker problem with a similar Sears model 919.195060 (25 gal) and luckily I had access to another, almost identical sears compressor to swap parts to diagnosis it. It turned out to be the run capacitor, but from what I was finding in my on-line research, it could have been a bad winding on the motor or the start capacitor just as easily. If your resistor is outside of the capacitor, just cut the wire right at the capacitor and add flag termnals Mine had 3 wires coming out of the capacitor (not the normal terminal cap style), and two of them were basically just tied together (same color). I didn't have an external resistor. I bought a GE 97F9614 run capacitor (40 mf, 370vac) and other than having to cut out a bit of the plastic on the mounting bracket and buying "flag" style 1/4" terinals from radioshack, it fit and worked perfectly. It seems if GE is the only one that has the right dimensions (1.75dia x 3.88 long, not including the terminals. That capacitor cost $27.50 with tax at a local electric motor shop. Sears doesn't even have any info on the motor parts, like capacitor - they want to sell you a new motor for almost as much as a new whole compressor. I ended up looking at parts forr the motor on a Devilbliss (that's what the 919 means on the model number, that it's made by Devilbliss), but it was not an easy way to go and really didn't help that much). The easier/normal way of matching capacitors is to measure the case dimensions carefully and match up the voltage and uf (or mf) specs,
