Voice dialing on the i870 motorola phone

Using a Voice Name

Follow the prompts of your voice dialing service, first which means that you need to run the set up of this feature. Each number can be assigned a voice dialing option, which the phone must be trained to recognize.

If you have created a voice name in Contacts for the number you want to call, say the voice name into your handset to enter the number. You can use a voice name to enter a handset number
with the flip open or closed.

1. Press and hold t until a prompt appears telling
you to say the voice name.
2. Speaking into the microphone, say the voice name assigned to the number you want to call.

Your handset plays the name back to you.
If you are making a Private call, press and hold the
PTT button to place the call.

If you are making a phone call, the call is placed
automatically.
(Tip: To stop a phone call from being completed,
press . if the flip is closed or press e.)

I need to figure out what my acess number is for my voice mail.

I assume you are talking about a cell phone. The number is stored in the setup area of the phone, or, sometimes, in the telephone address book, where it was placed by your carrier during account setup. Your carrier's customer service can also tell you the voice mail number associated with your cell number. If an office phone, then the access number is your regular phone number. Just consult the manual for how to enter vocie mail from a remote call. Example: on Lucent Partner, it is *7.

Is this phone capable of voice recognition calling?

Yep, just go to the App Store and search for 'melodis voice dialer'. Tap Free, then tap Install, enter your iTunes account password and it will install.

Now you'll have a program called Dialer on your home screen that you can tap to start voice dialing.

Keyboard seems to be shorting out

the problem where your voice dialing button on the side is depressing by itself, it either has liquid or the key itself is getting stuck , take a flat screwdriver n file the edges of the place where it houses the voice dialing button, if still persists, u need to clean the liquid off the flexi that houses the voice dialing button.

RAZOR V3 VOICE DIALING

If you have the v3xx, it has speech recognition built in, you just press the voice dial key on the right side of the phone and say "name dial", then say the name of the address book entry you want to dial. The speech recognition matches up with your address book entries and repeats the name back to you. If you have multiple entries, it asks "which one". It's very cool and mine works very well. I was going through the same frustration you mention, looking for a way to add a "voice tag" to an address book entry like my old phone, but this is way cooler! Hope this is the fix for yours as well, good luck!
