If there is ice in the tray and it is not falling out, the problem lies with the heating element that slightly melts the ice so that it can be scooped out. Either the element is not working or the mechanism that turns on the element is not supplying power to it.

The manual mechanism that pushes the ice out should also be checked for operation.

Warning! To avoid personal injury or even death, always disconnect your appliance from its power source--that is, unplug it or break the connection at the circuit breaker or fuse box--before you do any troubleshooting or repair work on your appliance. Also, because some components may have sharp edges, use caution while working on your appliance.

There are three common problems with icemakers:

There's no ice
Small or too few ice cubes
Specks in the cubes

Scotsman cm250ae-1c making very wet ice

It might be a dirty or damaged ice tray. When in the harvest mode the hot gas will be directed through the tray untill the cubes fall tripping the reset to start the freezing cycle again. If the cubes are sticking because of rust or scale buildup the cubes get "overmelted" causing the "wet cubes".CAREFULLY clean the ice tray . Use vinegar or ice machine cleaner do not use any cleaning pads steel wool or sand paper as this will ruin ice tray. Also make sure icemaker is level both ways. Hope this helps.

On my VISB542SS the ice maker , water leaks into the drawer when ice is being made, Ihave removed the unit to check for leaks bot find none.

Hi,

The ice tray releases the ice because the mechanism twists the tray during the end of the cycle. Sediment builds up in the ice try over time and the smooth Teflon surface is no longer smooth, and the ice can get a "grip" on the tray. Then when the tray is twisted, a few cubes remain in the tray. When the measured amount of water then flows into the tray on the next cycle, it is too much. It freezes over the top of the tray, and the next time the tray is twisted, no ice falls out. When water is injected after this, it just runs off the top of the tray into the bin, freezing the ice in the bin. Replace the ice tray every 3-4 years with a new ice tray, and the problem disappears.

Kitchen Aid KSCS25INSS ice making replenishment rate has been diminishing for about a month. Today it stopped dropping ice completely. The ice tray has frozen cubes which will not fall

There could be many reasons for this problem. Because you said the ice maker stopped with ice in the trays leads me to focus on the ice maker alone. I will try to get some photos and links when I return. Sea Breeze

Ice not emtying from tray

Sounds is if the ice mold heater is not functioning. This heater warms the bottom of the ice mold just enough to melt the ice and let it drop out. Usually not a repairable item. Replace ice maker assembly - if you're not comfortable doing it yourself, call a repair company.

Ice maker not working

Depending on the ice maker style, they typically work off a motor timer. The timer motor rotates to set up the ice making process... starting with letting water into an empty ice mold tray, allowing ample time for that water to freeze and then to rotate that mold so that the cubes fall out into the bin. In conjunction with that process, a small heater is turned on to release the frozen cubes from the tray. The 'ice tray full' lever signals the system to stop making ice so you may want to verify that the lever is down and not causing the ice maker to stop, If that's down then I suggest you monitor the position of the motor gearset underneath an access cover. With power applied, the gears should rotate and cycle thru an ice making process. If it does and ice fails to fall out, your heater may be defective. Hope that helps...

Ice tray sometimes stuck when dumping off ice

Your icemaker tray has an update for the water flowing over the tray.  You will need to call a qualified LG technician to get it replaced.  Also, the tray is twisted because it binds itself against the hinge pin on the left side.  To stop this, spray some cooking spray oil in the left hinge pin and it should unbind itself and return to normal.
