Precor Error 05, Key Depressed at Power Up
Probable Cause 1. A key is permanently depressed on the display.
2. An interface chip (IC) has failed in the upper PCA's keypad.
3. Liquid (cleaning solution or sweat) may be on the surface of a touch sensitive display.

Corrective Action

  1. Disconnect the keypad cable from the upper PCA. Reset power to the machine. If the Error 05 is eliminated, the keypad is the cause and should be replaced.
  2. Disconnect the keypad cable from the upper PCA. Reset power to the machine. If the Error 05 still appears, the upper PCA* is the cause and should be replaced. *Upper PCA's most commonly do not come with software. Remove the software (chip) from the existing upper PCA prior to replacement and install into the new upper PCA.
  3. Wipe away all liquid from the touch sensitive display. Reset power to the unit. If the Error 05 is eliminated, the liquid was the cause.

My pre or C964i is displaying "stuck key" , it appears to be the reset button which also has a slight tear in it. Any advice?

If your Precor C964i treadmill is displaying a "stuck key" error message and it seems to be related to the reset button, here are a few steps you can try to address the issue:
  1. Power cycle the treadmill: Turn off the treadmill and unplug it from the power source. Wait for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on again. This simple power cycle can sometimes help reset the system and clear temporary errors.
  2. Clean around the reset button: Use a soft cloth or cotton swab to gently clean around the reset button and the surrounding area. Dust, dirt, or debris might be causing the button to get stuck or not register properly. Ensure there are no obstructions or residue that may affect its functionality.
  3. Inspect the reset button: Check the reset button carefully for any physical damage, such as a tear or debris lodged underneath it. If there is a tear in the button or it appears to be damaged, it may need to be replaced. Contact Precor customer support or a qualified technician to obtain a replacement button and guide you through the replacement process.
  4. Reset the treadmill: Some treadmill models have a reset function that can help resolve minor issues. Refer to your treadmill's user manual or contact Precor customer support to find out if there is a specific reset procedure for your model. Follow the instructions provided to perform a reset, which may help clear any error messages related to the stuck key.
  5. Contact Precor customer support: If the above steps do not resolve the issue, it's advisable to reach out to Precor's customer support for further assistance. They can provide specific guidance based on your treadmill model and help troubleshoot the problem. They may recommend additional steps or advise on whether a technician should be involved to repair or replace the reset button.
When contacting customer support, provide them with the specific error message, details about the tear in the reset button, and the steps you have already taken to address the issue. This will help them provide more accurate assistance and solutions tailored to your situation.

1750 commercial Norditrack treadmill stuck on Whoops error occurred.

The "Whoops" error on a NordicTrack treadmill usually indicates a software or connectivity issue. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem:
  1. Unplug the treadmill from the power source and wait for a few minutes before plugging it back in.
  2. Make sure the treadmill is connected to a stable and reliable Wi-Fi network. If the issue started when you tried to connect to the Internet, this could be the problem.
  3. If the issue persists, try resetting the treadmill's software by following these steps: a. Hold down the Stop button and the Speed Up button while inserting the safety key. b. Hold the buttons until the treadmill beeps twice. c. Release the buttons and wait for the treadmill to reset.
  4. If none of these steps work, contact NordicTrack customer support for further assistance.
It's also possible that the previous owner may have sold you a defective treadmill, so you may want to consider reaching out to them for a refund or replacement.
