SOURCE: acer aspire 5920 series wont load past windows loading bar

OMG ... i was completley distraught. i bought my ACER ASPIRE LAPTOP 6months ago when i was trveling in italy ,im in austarlia. I use it torun my online game ; » www.themafiawarz.eu - and has all my files.

When i got the black screen o death i first am here to the boards finding nothing i was further distraught..

I AM HAPPY TO TELL YOU MY FRIENDS, that i am typing this on my lil baby

Heres what you do....

* you need usb disk drive
* a second computer with internet access (can be work cafe friends place)
* a file you can download from acer or search yourself called ZGIA32.zip

Formatyour drive in fat (*note i tried fat as directed in a number of manualsthough then tried fat32 and it worked then though suggest you try fatfirst *shrug)

open zip file and copy 3309.fd and the fla.exe to the usb stick

rename 3309.fd to ZGIA32.fd

Turn off your laptop making sure that both battery and power supply is plugged in and attach the usb stik/drive.

holddown FN and ESC keys and press the power button, continue to fold FNand ESC keys for 7-10 secs then release - at this point the power lightshould be blinking and you should still have the black screen of death.

press the power button once while its blinking - this will initiate a bios update * DO NOT PUSH ANYTHING AFTER THIS

After 2 mins the aspire should reboot itself , wait for about 7mins if it dosent before rebooting manually

Took me three attempts as i just wasent doing something right though TA DA!!!!!

and i still have my files. yeah team take this and run, hope you havent spent money yet smile.gif

SOURCE: Acer Aspire One - blue screen only when try to boot

You may have to remove and reset the HDD and Memory on the unit.
Next, you will recv. the F-2 to continue or F-12 to enter setup.
Enter setup and change date and time.
Save and try.
You may have a damaged HD or boot partition and reloading the operating system will be necessary.

Reseating the HD will assure that you have a good connection and the same with the memory.

Also, if the unit has been dropped, you may have a damaged HD and may need to change it.

SOURCE: ACER ASPIRE 5532 LOCKED UP, WON'T GO PAST THE

1. Turn the Laptop off 2. Remove the battery 3. Disconnect the AC adapter from the laptop 4. Disconnect any peripheral devices from the laptop such as printer usb cables, PCMCIA cards etc. 5. Push and hold the power button for 60 seconds then let go 6. Connect the AC adapter to your laptop 7. Push power button to turn on the laptop 8. If this resolves the issue shutdown the laptop connect the battery and turn laptop back on
If issue is not resolved restart the computer and begin tapping the F8 key repeatedly until you see a screen that gives you options to enter different modes. Highlight "Safemode" and press enter. If the computer boots completely into safemode you likely have a driver that has corrupted or a hardware device that has failed. Likely driver failures are video card drivers. Got to Device Manager and uninstall the video card driver and restart the system. You can do this with other drivers as well.

HOW to tget to bios acer aspire AST180-ED400A

Immediately after pressing the power up button, start repeatedly pressing F2 while the Acer logo is displaying. The Bios setup screen should appear. If you press F2 too soon, the keyboard may not have initialized yet. If you press it too late, Windows will proceed to launch. Press it once, wait a second, press, it again, wait another second, and repeat this while the Acer logo is displaying until you see the bios setup screen.

This is standard approach with most Acers. That said, some laptops may defer to either Ff being the key to press or CTRL+ALT+EXC. Such would be entered as the above mentioned F2. Your Aspire appears to be a desktop and I suspect F2 will suffice.

Acer 3000 Series Laptop Splash screen does not appear at startup when pressing F2 on the post page. Therefore unable to acces bios. Has e-manager but cannot access bios through it either. Welcome all...

It sounds like the Acer logo has been turned off in the bios settings. As soon as you hit the power button, start tapping the F2 key until you see the test appear "entering setup". Once you are in the BIOS, look for the Logo settings as far as being visible during Boot up. I've seen this setting on other systems so I am thinking the Acer should be similiar.

I cant remember my password to log into the computer

See if you can access the bios setup - usually F1 or F2 key right at the start up and see if that is where the password issue is. If so, try this:
Tech FAQ Forum members have reported that they were able to remove their Acer BIOS passwords by simply opening their notebooks and removing the CMOS batteries for 30 minutes.
Once your BIOS password is removed, you will need to press the <F2> key during POST (Power On Self Test) to enter the Acer BIOS setup.

Let me know.
