Why is my ink light on a steady red? I have new Epson ink cartridges in it and it has also been cleaned.

Make sure paper is in properly they can be very picky about that.
Try turning it off wait three minutes and turn back on.
Then
Push Paper refill button Wait for cycle and see if paper light stays off if so...
Push the ink button

Ye of course it could be faulty and Epsons are sometimes very fussy about using third party carts. Get it replaced at your store, try a different brand or buy a genuine Epson cart if you can afford it.

If the ink light is on steady red, that means the black or color ink cartridge is nearly empty. Obtain a replacement black or color ink cartridge. To know which cartridge is out of ink, check the ink levels using EPSON Status Monitor 3 (Windows) or EPSON Status Monitor (Macintosh). If you just replaced the cartridges before you got the error light, that means that the replacement cartridge is not recognized by your printer. Please reseat cartridges. Then turn the printer on and off. The cartridges maybe bad also.
If the paper light is on steady red, try to reload 10-20 sheets of regular paper into your printer. When printing on CD/DVD, CD/DVD tray is not inserted in the printer. Insert the CD/DVD tray in the printer and press the paper button.Could also be that the printer has loaded more than one sheet of paper at a time. Load paper in the sheet feeder, and then press the paper button to resume printing. If the CD/DVD guide is open, close the CD/DVD guide, load paper and then press the paper button.

Which button has the red light or which LED light? Is it flashing or steady red light? turn it off and check for any obstruction and double check if you installed ink cartridges properly.

open the door cover of your printer and then clean the tab circuit where the cartridge is installed ...and also clean the tab circuit of the cartridge...maybe it suffered loss connection..

Please try to uninstall and re-install the drivers on your laptop now that the ink light is not on steady anymore.
As i see it, the issue is hardware. The printer will not allow you to print anything if any cartridge is not recognized or any cartridge is out of ink. The red indicator light on the printer that was on steady while your installing the drivers on your laptop, indicates that there was a cartridge that was out of ink.

>the green light is just your power light, if it is glowing, its on, if its blinking...its receiving a job/replacing cartridge/charging cartridge/or cleaning heads
>the red light being constant on is any of the following...
-ran out of ink, ran out of paper, or has a paper jam.

PS: re-manufactured cartridges can not always be trusted...some companies accidentally send empties...simple mix up im sure,we're all human after all, but be on look-out.

if red ink light is still on, check that the lid for the cartridge is fully seated
