Idid see a service bulletin concerning radio. sound and display lost after engine crank. turn key off, then back to accessory position, radio functions work. the fix is to reprogram radio with new software. I also saw several codes listed for radio, they were manufacturer specific codes. did you check for codes?
I have had several different makes of clock radios and all said that it was battery back up for power failure
none worked and all settings had to be redone
power surges do not trip breakers as they are in effect a fuse to prevent damage to the wiring in a dead short situation or when a unit fails
even surge protectors will still pass power after a surge but will no longer protect against another surge
There is a battery backuo in the radio. This is probably powering the clock. It looks like the radio power supply is either fried or the hardwired fuse is blown.
Take a look at the manual. If you take out the battery back up does the clock still work? GPX MP3 Player KC232S user manual
Let me ask a few questions: The items mentioned, radio, clock and power outlet...are these the only items not working? does the instrument panel light? Also , does the cigar lighter work? Lastly check fuse # 7(40A) in the battery junction box
Hello there,
First you need to check if it is receiving power, try to connect the cord to another device to see if it will power it up. If it does, then it means the power cable is okay and does not need replacement, but if it does not power it up, then it means the power cord is bad and need to be replaced.
If the power cord works perfectly fine, check if the outlet is supplying current by plugging some other device to it to test if it is working.
If the power outlet is okay, then it means the problem is from the power board inside the unit of the denon clock radio. Have the power board checked for bad capacitors. If none found, replace the power board.
This time it should work.
Would be glad to know if this information was helpful to you.
All the best
