My unident cordless phone base keeps flashing 88 .renewed battery but unit is still flashing 88.

Either the base is defective and not keeping the battery charged or the wall outlet or voltage adapter plug is defective.

I attempted to register several new TCX 905s to my TRU 8866 base without success. I followed instructions from the owner's manual, from Uniden customer support, and from suggestions from this web site. ...

October 10th, 2013 at 9:19 amPROBLEM:
After de-registering handset, handset displays [REGISTRATION FAILED; UNAVAILABLE] when trying to register handset.
This worked for my UNIDEN TRU-9480-2
SOLUTION:
1) Remove handset from base
2) Remove power cord from back of base
3) Press and hold the [find hs] button on base as you plug the power supply back in; the charge light should then be blinking.
4) Return handset to base and it should register
GOOD LUCK!! HOPE THIS HELPS!!

Uniden base flashing 88 8

I just got off of the phone with Uniden for the same issue with my D1680-4. The alternating "8" - "88" code is an indication that the base is dead. They will be sending me a new base (and 2 handsets). During the call I learned that if you do not have a receipt, Uniden warrants their phones for up to 15 months. The advertised 12 months, plus 3 months for the product to get from manufacturing, through distribution channel and finally sale to the consumer.

How do i check my messages when not at home from a differnt state or phon i have a uniden powermax5

The manual download page at Uniden is here. You'll need to select your model from the list. The model number is on the back or bottom of the base unit, and it will probably start with TRU. The manual will tell you what you need to do.

Caller ID doesn't display and phone rings 1 time then stops

The Uniden TRU9XXX series has a high level of handset compatibility between bases. Depending on the handsets you bought to go with your 9480, you may be able to buy another model in the series and use the old handsets with the new model. Alternatively, you could buy another 9480 here (the -2 on the end of your model number just means that it came with an extra handset).

Before you do that, though, it might pay to hook up a regular (corded) caller ID-enabled phone to the line and see what happens there when you call. If it works properly, go buy your new phone. However, if you see the same behavior there as with the Uniden, chances are that the problem is not with the phones. Possible other causes could include a fax machine, modem, or other device in-line with the phone; a defective piece of equipment hooked up elsewhere in your house; etc. If nothing obvious applies, you might want to give the phone company another call--just because they couldn't find a problem on their end doesn't mean one doesn't exist.

RE TRU 9480-4 I have this system and it quit working

Sounds like it had not released from a conference call. Try pressing to off or hang-up buttom on these sets.
If this does not work try removing the batteries from those sets for atleast 5 minutes and then replace the batteries.
Conferencing
If you have more than one handset, up to four people can participate in a conference call. A four-way conference call consists of an outside line, two handsets, and the base speakerphone. You can easily join a call already in progress.
Press [/flash] or [] on the handset or [] on the base to join the call.
To hang up, return the handset to the cradle or press [] on the handset or [] on the base. The other party will still be connected to the call.
