Was supposed to have been converted to LP. Can someone tell me what the hole diameter of the burner orifice should be? Or could it be that a single 20lb propane is used as the supply?
If you don't know that you are doing you should buy them. You need one for each burner, 3 or 4 for most models. Yes they can be drilled out going only one way, using lettered drill bits that are hard to find. The regulator on the back normally has to be adjusted also. If either is wrong, the flame will be to big or to small to heat correctly. At least buy one orifice and check the size hole, they are not expensive $5 -$10 if you do a little searching for a good price.
The Part Numbers are:
Orifice - NAT. Gas 1625-36
Orifice - L.P. Gas 1625-51
You MUST use Lettered drill bits for size, Like A-Z If it was drilled with any normal size bits 1/16 type bits it will NOT be correct! There should be a number stamped on the orifice, unless it was drilled out. Most people never mark the door that the gas type was changed, causes all types of problems for the service men.
Can you give more details to your problems? I couldn't find the hole sizes right off, but have seen it listed.
The fryer was supposed to have been converted to LP. There is no marking on the burner orifice. The hole is between 3/64 and 1/16. If it is the correct size then I will look elswere for the problem.
I got around to the burners today, the holes were in pretty bad shape, a lot of plugged ones. Ran a drill bit into them by hand and got a ton of rust out. Hopefully that is the problem. Will connect fryer to propane this weekend and test it.
