Frigidaire dryer heating up but not completing cycle.

that has three sets of coils in it,one of them is bad this is most likely why you still have heat,i've seen it a few times,change out the heater box,go here and look at the last picture,you'll see the three sets of coils one of them is broken,just order your heater box for your model number off of your dryer.change out the heater box

don't know about cycle - not enough info - but usually when dryer does not heat the heating element needs replacing.

I understand that your Frigidaire dryer, model# FEQ1442ES, will not stay running. Please check to make sure the door is staying closed. If the door is opening in mid-cycle, then the dryer will stop running. Also, make sure the plug is in the socket tightly. Your dryer could be shaking the plug loose, which could possibly be causing it to stop running. Hello Scott Joseph Brandt - Since you have already replaced the thermal limiter check your breaker or fuses. Some dryers are run by two separate fuses, one for power and one for heat-ours is. If it is not the power source more than likely the issue lies with your heating coil.

Clogged Vent
If your dryer seems to run forever, it could be because of a clogged vent or internal ductwork. Your dryer may have an automatic cycle that turns off the dryer when the clothes are dry. It does this with a special thermostat or moisture-sensing system.
Normally, this is what happens during an automatic cycle:
The thermostat tells the dryer to heat until the interior of the dryer reaches a pre-set temperature--say 135 degrees.
When the dryer reaches the pre-set temperature, the thermostat tells the timer to begin advancing. (If there's a moisture sensor, the timer advances only if the moisture content of the clothing is low enough.)
The timer advances until the interior cools, then the thermostat tells the timer to stop advancing, and tells the dryer to start heating again.
This cycle continues until the clothes are dry. But...if the vent is clogged, the dryer may never reach the proper operating temperature, so it doesn't send the signal to the timer and the dryer continues to run indefinitely, even if the clothes are completely dry. To fix the problem, clean the vent and/or internal ductwork.
Heating Element
Your dryer's heating element may be partially burned out. If it is, your dryer still heats, but at such a low temperature that it takes three or four times as long to dry the clothes. If the element is partially burned out, replace the heating element. You can check for an ohm reading but will need to refer to the service manual for proper reading. This sometimes on the tech sheet located somewhere on the dryer. Usually between 9-13 ohms.
Cycling thermostat
Although this isn't a common problem, one of the thermostats that controls the temperature in your dryer may break and cause the dryer to heat poorly. If so, you need to replace it. The thermostat is usually a small, round, black device mounted to an oblong steel plate. The plate is mounted to the internal ductwork . This thermostat usually has four wires going to it. Check the 2 terminals that are opposite each other and are the closer together of the 2. These 2 terminals should have continuity. If not replace the thermostat.

PF is showing you that there is a power problem. Check your dryer circuit breaker at the power panel. This can be a sing that one of the 2 breakers has tripped. Push the CB hard to OFF and then back to ON. Then try and start your dryer. If that does not work just respond here and I will help you.

Try selecting "No Heat" after resetting the CB and see if the dryer starts. If it does you could have a bad heating element that caused the breaker to trip to begin with. Sometimes when the heating element fails the broken link will contact the chassis and cause the CB to trip. Heating element failures are usually caused by poor airflow. You may want to look for any signs of lint in your dryer to include the lint filter area and all the way to the outside wall exhaust point.

Your machine may have a feature called wrinkle guard or wrinkle shield, which basically keeps tumbling the clothes without heat to prevent wrinkles from setting in. Turn that feature off and see if that does the trick.

A1 Pull the dryer out away from the wall. Unhook the vent from the dryer completely. Do not put anything over the dryer exhaust on the back of the dryer. Do a normal load with the vent unhooked. If it dries better or ok like this then the problem is in the dryer venting. Like a blocked vent pipe or a smashed or restricted vent hose.

ck to see if wrinkle guard or some such feature is activated ..most dryers have a cool down followed by intermittant tumble without heat to reduce wrinkles
