First try a firmware update from the manufacturer's web sight (look under support heading). you can do this yourself. if that doesn't fix the problem replace the main board.

If the set was working okay when new, and this fault happened over time, then this must be from something that has failed on one of the circuit boards. This may not necessarily be from the power supply itself.

Most likely one of the boards has a component that is failing and causing the protection in the power supply area to do a reset of sorts. The only way to find this is to try each of the boards until the fault is determined. In rare occasions there can be more than one board faulty to cause this. The service rep would try each of the boards until the fault is found, and then leave the working board(s) in the set on test for at least 24 hours. After that they would give the estimate to the customer.

Servicing these new generations of TV sets out of warranty can be fairly expensive. If the set has a number of years of use and is out of warranty it is usually a better option to replace the set than to service it. After one of the boards fail there is odds that other boards could soon fail. The MTBF for most of these sets is in the range of 40,000 to 50,000 hours depending on the model and specs. This is equivalent to about four to six years...

SOURCE: sharp aquos 46 picture disappears intermittently

it might mean there is an intermittent connection or cold solder joint somewhere inside the set.
But I wouldn't just settle on that.
Here are some other things to check:
1) Replace the batteries on your remote control.
2) Try resetting the logic functions on your tv by unplugging it for a minute, then plugging it back in.
3) Try covering up the infra-red receptor on the front of your TV to see if you're getting unwanted signals from the receptor. taping a piece of foil over that area is perfect. If it doesn't stop after doing these two things you'll probably need to take it to a shop.
4) If this does stop it, then look for unexpected signal sources. Have you added a remote control extender? Added a new device to your audio-video system? Changed to a new remote?
Here is what I suggest:

ONE: Give it a hard reset. Possibly the software codes in the power management are corrupted. Just unplug the tv line cord for 4 hours. That will reset everything internally to factory defaults.

TWO: Give it the old whacking test. Just bang on the cabinet in many places with your hand or fist. That will restart any cold solder joints or loose connections.

THREE: If the above procedure does not help, then you will have to call in an expert tv tech; OR just live with it and put in a line cord switch so that when it is OFF, it is really OFF.

Lexmark X5470 powers on and off constantly

I encountered the exact same problem with my Lexmark X5470. After a power failure on Aug 20, the printer would reboot itself every few seconds. I unplugged the power cord and/or adapter for a few minutes and after replugging, it worked fine. However, the problem returns after I power off the printer and then turn it back on, in which case I unplug again for a few minutes. Hope this helps.

Tv wont stay on channel

This TV actually has bad buttons I've seen many of them, usually those switches never go bad but on this tv they do. The easiest thing to do is remove them, and use the remote, who uses those buttons anyway. You can slide out the circuit board and you will see the small switches in front if you can solder just remove remove them if not you can cut them out just be careful none of the pins remaining in the board are touching one another.
