I cannot install my samsung YP-K3J MP3 Player onto my PC - HELP!!

I have tried to install directly from the installation CD and have checked all system requirements and have lost count of the number of times I have installed and uninstalled and tried again and still have not been able to have my PC recognise my portable music device.

Try to update the driver of the player.

Go to the START menu.
Click on RUN. type in devmgmt.msc and hit enter.
Make sure you have the player plugged in and the installer CD should be on your CD drive.
Now look for the category PORTABLE DEVICES or OTHER DEVICES.
the YP-K3 should be listed there with a yellow question mark.
Right click on it and select update driver. Follow the prompts to update.
The player should be recognized after that.

Hope this helps!

My computer doesn't recognise my YP-K3J

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

Installation

i read somewhere that the ypk3 doesnt work properly with mediaplayer11 installed. im having a similiar problem at the moment and im trying to figure out how to uninstall mp11 completely. there is also a service that needs to be running in order for the player to be detected by mediaplayer or any other software that supports playforsure - 'Windows Driver Foundation - User-mode Driver Framework'. the service appears as 'WudfHost.exe' in taskmanager. if you cant detect your player with mediastudio but it does appear in explorer, as a workaround you can still copy and paste your music folders directly to the player that way.
