Have webcam in my PC, doesn' t know how to use it, please help

Under programs, there is a dell web cam program, there is also a dell web cam help file,if you install skype (a free web cam communication program) it will automatically turn on and off the web cam as the program starts and exits.there are also other dell web cam programs that will let you adjust ,and take snap shots called web cam console and dell webcam manager

When i click on the webcam it says camera not found. I've never really known how to use it, but i see myself (haha) but now--nothing

restore this unit to an earlier time when the cam was working

go to start
all programs
system tools
restore

this will give you a calendar to choose a date from
follow the prompts

it will shut down and restart by itself

check when finished
under all programs
open crystal web cam and test

Just bought my laptop in December of 2009. Now my light for my video camera won't turn on.

Go to device manager uninstall the driver for the web cam then after that download the latest driver for your web cam in the support website of dell.
Then, install it if that doesn't work. Access BIOS of your laptop that will be f2 on the start up of your computer check if the web cam is detected.
If it is reinstalling the application of the web cam can help,
If it is not detected and after you've tried the all the things that I've told you it's either you end up erasing everything on your computer or replacing the web cam which is integrated in your LCD.

I cannot shut down or restart my PC using the start menu prompts. The only way to shut her down is a hard shut down (manually turn her off).

There is a program that is failing to shut down in general, which is delaying the computers ability to shut down.
The next time you shut down, make sure you have no programs open. Then, while attempting to shut down, wait until Windows pops up window asking you to close a non-responsive program. When it does, take note of the program that it mentions, then close it and see if Windows shuts down. Note: sometimes this takes a really long time.
Try re-installing the non-responsive program and see if your computer can shut down normally again.

How do i stop the cam from making me look slow when i video cam on msn messager

this problem can be caused by:
  1. your web cam being unable to cope with a high frame rate ( this is unlikely)
  2. your internet connection speed is low
  3. your computer is running to slow to prosses the web cam information
Solutions
  1. if your webcam cant handle high frame rates, then the only solution is to buy a new, higher quality web cam
  2. if your connection speed is low, then close down other programs that use the internet, eg internet explorer or multiplayer games
  3. if your computer is running to slow to prosses the information, then close down any unnessesery programs, for example games, internet, or even word and exell
good luck, please take the time to rate this solution
thanks

Why doesn't my work wok properly?

The problem could be the speed of the internet and also could be the computers memory. Try to reduce the size of the web cam window and also the speed and drop down the quality in the messenger. Try to use only messenger when using web cam not other programs. If this doesn't work try to reinstalling the yahoo messenger.

Opening the program my computer shuts down

This sounds like a power supply issue whereby your computer is not suppling enough current to the web cam for it work and therefore the power supply shuts down rather than harming your system.
