Poor colour I have been very happy with the colour from my printer up until the last few prints. Today i printed a photo of my little boy on his bike. The boy and bike came out close to what it looked like on the screen but the green of the grass looked very yellow and the grey pavement lost all its deffinition and looked blown out yet it doesn't look like that on the screen. Is there anything I can do to improve this?

How to do print head deep cleaning

Note: Print head deep cleaning consumes more ink than print head cleaning.
Perform this procedure only when print head cleaning cannot resolve the print problem.

1. Display the MAINTENANCE screen. (See How to display MAINTENANCE above.)

2. Use the <up / down> cursor button to select DEEP CLEANING and press the <OK> button.
3. Use the <up / down> cursor button to select 'Yes', then press the <OK> button to start print head deep cleaning.

Note: Do not do any other operations until deep cleaning is completed.

4. Print the nozzle check pattern and check the print head status. (See How to print a nozzle check pattern above.)

Note: If the printed result does not improve even after doing print head deep cleaning, turn off the printer. Then, after 24 hours or later, do print head deep cleaning again. After a given time interval, ink could dissolve itself, resulting in ink unclogging.
When the printed result does not improve even after these steps, replacement of ink cartridges may be required.

Printer will only print purple

on a colour printer, black is mixed with the other colours. Try printing a black and withe photo and you always get a colour cast. If your black cartridge is empty or the nozzles are blocked, you get bad colour and fussy prints.
test all nozzles, like is explained in the manual.
Check, if you know how to do, if nothing fell in the printer, that is now on the print head. Sometimes just dust or paper scraps are picked up by the printhead, making it difficult for the printer to print a normal page.

Poor photo printing

when the printer says that "for best results use Epson Ink." They mean it! otherwise using Xprint cartridges works as well, if changing the type of ink doesn't work then you might have to tinker with the advanced settings (you can change the amount of color used in the print) when you click the properties button in the print screen, ONLY if you know what you are doing!!

Epson Photo R265 Lines every 2.5 cm

Check status monitor see if cartridges are low or nearly empty , if new or full take out all cartridges and soak nozzles upright in cleaning solution overnight , or untill ink starts to bleed out:

Dab dry and re - fit , make up a A4 paper page with 6 colour bands about 1" high x 8" wide and print about 4 to 6 pages ,
check which colours are poor , if improvement is observed run
again a few times:

If one colour is poor take out that cartridge and soak again for a few hours , try again:

If no improvement replace with new cartridge or use a cleaning cartridge ( available on-line ) :

Using the head-cleaning utility shortens the life of the printer as the printer is set to lock-out after a pre-set use of the cleaning facility: and will have to be re-set instore:

Red colour prints brown

Just replace the non genuine inks with proper Canon ones and then do about 4 full cleans, that should fix it. If not you will have to replace the printhead, which is usually caused by using non genuine ink. Good luck
