I have 5D software and dongle. can't get software to load.

If you are the original owner then you should be able to go to a viking dealer and they will be able to sent the dongle in for a replacement (at a charge, of course). However the software is old enough to consider replacing it now since 5D is not going to work on newer computers.

When you purchased the software it came with an activation code. Just re-enter the code.

It sounds like it may be a driver issue, go to HUSQVARNA software help and download a new hasp driver

I have the 5D Quilt Creator Software (Pfaff & Viking versions), and I would not be able to transfer the registration for the dongle. Only the original owner can upgrade or get updates for the software.

My registration with the company has all my purchasing info (credit card, etc.)...and so, I can't give the login info away.

The only way to get updates, is to have the person who sold you the software get the updates for you, or give you access (user name and password) to their account.

Check with your authorized Viking dealer to see what they can do for you. you may have to purchase 6D software.

take it to the dealer with your SN and receipt the dealer can get you a new dealer for about $100, but if you are not the original owner who registered the SN, it is a copyright violation and you are SOL

3D will not run properly on a Windows 7 computer.The USB reader/writer will work fine with 5D software.
Trust me, I have tried extensively to get 3D to run on Windows 7. I ran it on Vista, for a while. Then an update to Windows ended that. I've never had it function normally on Windows 7.

When installing the 4D Embroidery System onto Windows 7 computers, the dongle drivers may not initially work correctly, as the 4D Embroidery System installs a set of dongle drivers which were created before Windows 7.
Download and install the latest dongle drivers prior to installing the 4D Embroidery System. Failure to do this, may result in the "Dongle driver not found (E0009)" when you try to open the 4D modules.
Please follow the steps below to install the latest dongle drivers BEFORE installing the 4D Embroidery System

1. Download and install the latest Dongle Drivers.
2. Insert your 4D Dongle.
3. Install your 4D Embroidery System software (and all updates).
4. Open your 4D Embroidery System software to confirm that your dongle is working correctly.

If you installed the 4D Embroidery System software before installing the latest dongle drivers and if you experience problems such as the error message "Unable to start hasplms service..."; download and install the latest Dongle Drivers.
