There is a communication error between the source & the TV. When powering up the units, try turning on the receiver first, then turn the TV on, that way there is a signal for the TV to detect at initial start-up.

When I plug in the power cord nothing happens. I press the power button and nothing seems to happen. I tried 3 different cords.

The power supply on lcd and other flat screen type monitors utilize a group of capacitors as a static pulse for the screen to energize..my bet is that one or more of those have failed...it's actually a common problem with flat screens. Most of them, those that won't power up anyways, have this exact same problem. If it's not that, then your power supply is burnt out, and if that's the case it may be cheaper to get a new monitor instead of trying to fix the old one.

Hi Have Vizio Flat Screen and a Denon 3803 receiver. The Tv a Vizio 65 Inch flat screen was here. Out of the wall is a power cord and red, blue, green monster cable. Red and Blue is audio and green video I...

Red, Green and Blue cables together typically denotes a component video signal - an Analog, High Definition transportation for video. This cable does not carry audio, you need another cable to hook up audio between the DVR and receiver. You can use either an RCA stereo cable (red and white), optical-audio, HDMI, or a whole plethora of other audio cables. I would recommend optical or HDMI to get the most out of your system.

You have to use Component Video on this unit. HDMI will not "Handshake" and pass thru. This was HDMI's first version "1.1a" and there is no fix. Use your receiver to switch audio via Coaxial or optical then use HDMI directly from BLURAY etc to your TV. The downside to this is how many HDMI inputs your TV has. It's an awesome receiver! Don't blame Yamaha!!! This issue is directly attributable to "HDMI" and their race to shelves before truly field testing the product. The current version of HDMI is 1.3b and soon to be 1.4 which includes ethernet capabilities.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news! If you would like an "in depth" look into the world of HDMI issues, Google HDMI problems or HDMI forums, and you can read for hours. Hope this helps

if you have video im assuming you do if you can see its on video 6 look at hdmi port and make shure its video 6 if your not shure leave it hooked up the way you have it turn on cable box and go thru all inputs example put it on video 1 wait for 60 seconds if nothing happens go to video 2 and so on and so on be shure to wait at least 60 seconds before you change to another input good luck

Hdmi cord my tv

may be a problem with the input on the tv or the receiver itself. if you have another receiver, try hooking it up to see if you get a video or component cables (red, green, and blue) work just as well these are video only so also have to have composit cables hooked up with it
