SOURCE: Bobbin won't wind

I have checked the gears underneath and see no missing teeth for the bobbin part. The bobbin "seat" does raise, but does not engage. Thanks

SOURCE: Singer Concerto sewing machine model 9217

i was having the same problem. try putting in a new slide plate - the pressure from it holds the bobbin down, but it wears thin after a while. fixed mine.

SOURCE: Singer 6267 self winding bobbin winds around shaft under

I just figured out why my bobbine was winding on shaft instead of on the bobbin. first of all make sure the bobbin is setting up high enough, top of bobbin needs to be a fraction higher then the bobbin shuttle, next check to make sure there are no burrs on the bobbin, then make sure that the thear is catching in the groove (**** in top) of the bobbin. In order to get mine to wind i had to lett the tread go down and then slip the thread in the groove. also remember to leave the pressure foot up do not put it down. let me know if this helps.

I can't seem to wind a bobbin. I've done everything in the manual but it just seizes up- doesn't spin.

you placed the bobin upside down

one side is flat the other is keyed

so place the keyed side down
usual fault with winders

bobins are easy... read again the manual slowly

Bobin thread is loose

As you are winding the thread onto the bobbin, grasp it between your fingers ever so lightly to give it a little drag so it spools up tighter.

Or just press the thread down against the top of the machine as it winds, anything to just help it spool up a little tighter.

How to work the bobin

There is a free manual download available from the Singer website. Just type in TT700 in the search box and click search.
The manual should give clear instructions on how to wind and insert the bobbin.

Pages 8-11 of this manual. Hope this helps!

Singer Concerto 9217 - problem threading bobbin

thread the same way as for sewing. put empty bobbin case in bottom. close slide plate only to red button, not all the way. wrap thread from needle around bolt that holds on the presser foot (or just hold it tight). press pedal to sew. bobbin should wind. when done, shut slide plate all the way and sew.

if this doesn't work, try using a pin to push down the center of the bobbin when the slide plate is in winding position - the little catch on the bottom of the plate breaks easily and then the bobbin won't wind without a little help.

I have model 8280 and the bobbin thread keeps bunching up on the bottom. I have tried to rethread it but it keeps happening.

i think your putting in your bobin backwards,
to check put your bobin in and hold bobin , and bobin case by thread if it unrolls its backwards,
hope this helps!!
