How to unlock taylor c712 freezer lock - Taylor Ice Cream Makers

  • 1 more comment

Under normal operating conditions, the C712 will enter freezer lock when the temperature of the barrel or hopper has been above 41 degrees for too long. It requires you to do a cleaning cycle. You will have to empty the machine of product, rinse it out, remove the freezer door, and shut the machine off. once the machine is off you will see a 5 minute timer and 4 temperature readings. That timer wont start unless all 4 temperature reading are above 60 degrees F. once the timer reaches zero, the machine will unlock and your brush cycle timer will reset to 00. The brush cycle timer is underneath your main display.

The brush cycle timer is underneath your main display. Your main display should now show "Power Switch Off--- Unit Cleaned" and you can now reassemble your machine and can use it.
Some causes:

Low product with a lid off.

During a cleaning cycle, the barrels take longer to come up to temperature than the hoppers. Its entirely possible to thoroughly and properly clean the machine without satisfying the temperature requirements. The machine doesn't register the cleaning cycle and you reassemble the machine. The machine doesn't know you cleaned the machine so it was still keeping track of how long the temperatures were above 41 degrees and as soon you try to put it in auto or standby, it goes into a freezer locked condition.

One of the probes may be failing. You can check this by going into "Current Conditions" in your managers menu. You'll see the 4 temperature readings and if one of them is a lot higher or lower than the actual temperature of the product that could be an indicator of a failing temperature probe.

SOURCE: i have taylor machine model c712, the problems is ones i draw the icecream its melted, whats is the problem of may machine?

You have to add salt to the ice you are using to cool the machine. This will make it colder and make the ice cream harder.

WHAT IT MEANS R-HPR THERMAL FAIL FOR TAYLOR ICE CREAM MACHINE MODEL C713

That code means the right side hopper thermistor probe has failed. That is the sensor that reads the temperature of product in the mix hopper.

This is the part you need:

If you order it from us, I would be happy to put a technician on the phone to help you install it yourself.

Taylor c712 with pumps one side sounds like it is pumping and looks like its pumping but when you use it there is no mix in the barrel

Hi Megan,
The first thing I would do is tear the machine down, sanitize and rebuild and properly lubricate everything. If you have a spare kit, you should install all new pump o rings and seals (Parts 4, 5, 6, 8 and 14 in the schematic). Hopefully, it is either improperly lubricated o ring, or a worn out seal and that will fix it.

The plastic pump parts do wear out over time (Parts 3 and 4) and so do the stainless steel pump sleeves (Part 1). If seals and lubrication don't correct the issue, you can start looking closer at the pump parts.

I have the tune up kit available here.

Schematics of the pumps are here with prices and part numbers.

Soft Serve Parts C712

I have a C712 taylor soft serve and we have one side somehow mixing in to the other ??? how is this happening ???

The separate flavors only meet at the center draw valve of the freezer door. That valve should have an H-type seal that looks like 2 connected o rings. If you haven't replaced this seal 034698 Large Basket Seal, it could be the problem. You can buy the seal individually or as part of a kit.

You can also try to make sure that the viscosity of the product is even, you don't want one side to be noticeably softer than the other.

The other possibility is there is a problem with the mix pumps. First try replacing all of the seals and gaskets. Use this kit X49463 81Tune up kit for Taylor C712. The pump parts do wear out over time including the stainless steel cylinder sleeve. If one pump was working better than the other, that could explain the mix bleeding.

If none of that takes care of the problem let me know. [email protected]

Poor Overrun on Taylor 162-12

You cannot change the overrun on a Taylor 162. Once you've properly primed the machine and installed the feed tubes, the viscosity or how firm the product is.

I do not know of any soft serve machine that will give you an 80% overrun. You can adjust the overrun on a Taylor pressurized machine like the 8756 or the C712, but I believe the limit is somewhere around 40%.

You can email me [email protected] or call 1-800-879-7839 if I can answer anymore questions for you.
